This time last year, we visited Pakistan for our very first project – a moment filled with hope and purpose. Now, just one year later, we are so proud to see the Nyami Noohani School not only completed but transforming the village it serves. The impact has been profound: - More girls are now receiving an education – opening doors to opportunities they once couldn’t imagine. - Access to clean water has been brought to the village, improving health and daily life for everyone. This school is more than a place of learning; it’s a symbol of hope, resilience, and progress. We are so grateful to everyone who made this possible – from the local community who embraced the project to our supporters who believed in our mission. Together, we’ve proven that thoughtful design can create lasting change. Visit our website for more information on the school and our partners on the project! 🎄 Day 22 of our countdown of kindness 🎄 University of Staffordshire's new student village is located near to their onsite nursery. The children from Woodlands Day Nursery have taken the opportunity to learn all about construction with help from our site team and our fantastic supply chain partners Wright Landscapes and McDermott Building and Civil Engineering Ltd! Ending the year with a bit of a high (rise..). With the festive break fast approaching it seemed like the perfect time to reflect on the journey this particular project has been on and how far it’s progressed. Less than a year ago this was a redundant triangular piece of land, barely big enough to swing a digger bucket. Bounded by highways, historic retaining walls and a full height level change. Chuck in a bit of contamination in the mix (historic petrol station) and you wouldn’t be wrong for thinking this site had every right to be left undeveloped. Throw in the creative minds and vision of Fusion Group and Corstorphine & Wright. The problem solving mindset of NOVO Integration Ltd , Shear Design Ltd and Rhomco. Finally the practical expertise of Domis Construction and Mayo Civil Engineering Limited and here we are… 30 storeys of slip form completed above a reinforced concrete basement and fast approaching floor slabs. Has it been plain sailing? Absolutely not. Legislative changes, additional stair case, concrete sprinkler and drainage tank relocation, I would be lying if I said this one hadnt kept me up late scratching my head. However, with the right combination of expertise, creativity and enthusiasm we overcame these challenges. As engineers and construction professionals it’s easy to forget the impact we have on our communities (near and far). Here we are, well on our way to converting this parcel of forgotten land into a space that many will be able to enjoy and call home. Something that I for one am very proud of. To everyone I have worked with over the last year, I hope you all enjoy a well earned festive break. I can’t wait to continue working together in 2025 and for the challenges that next year holds.

  • Kent Street Apartments has been approved for planning by Birmingham. This central Digbeth scheme for P1 Capital is an 8-12 storey regeneration residential scheme with a flexible commercial unit fronting Kent Street. Forming a collection of 64 one and 69 two-bedroom apartments, the open-plan living scheme also features a large landscaped resident’s rooftop terrace along with ground floor amenity space. The design and materiality of the building aims to reflect the local grain and heritage of the area, echoing industrial themes. Using a single brick type to all facades in a variety of bonds with a combination of mortar colours creates a simple elegant building which gives a gentle nod to the past.  #CorstorphineWright #Birmingham #NewDevelopments

  • Thank you to Dezeen for including our 'Scoop' office in its roundup of the the top 10 UK architecture projects of 2024. The Scoop is a unique and innovative office building located in Southwark, London. The design reuses an existing building and integrates a conical cut-out façade in white glazed bricks, creating a playful and novel response to the site’s context and neighbouring church. The main design goal for The Scoop was to create a visual bridge between the public realm and the church, while maximizing the development potential for the client. This aimed to ensure that the adjacent heritage asset was celebrated rather than hidden by the new development. https://buff.ly/3OTd2Ox
