The value of experience: This National Older Workers Week, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions older workers make to the workforce 🌟 Older workers offer a wealth of experience, valuable mentorship, and inspiration to younger colleagues. As our Country Manager, Rufus Hood, shares: “Organisations that hire older workers benefit from their greater experience and expertise. By bringing in workers of different age groups, companies can gain different perspectives and lived experiences.” A key consideration for attracting older workers is ensuring fair access to training, development, and opportunities for all employees. Halloween in our office was a spooky good time! 🎃 We celebrated with a fantastic fancy dress competition and to top it all off, we were treated to an amazing BBQ lunch, lovingly prepared by Antoine Debroye. He started at 4pm the night before to make sure everything was just right - thank you Antoine for your incredible efforts and delicious food! And now that Halloween is over, it's officially festive season! 🎄✨ Bring on the holiday cheer!

Employment Rights Bill Update: What it means for UK employers and employees The UK’s new Employment Rights Bill introduces major shifts, including reforms to zero-hour contracts, 🕒 statutory sick pay, 🤒 and the right to request flexible working 🤲. As discussions continue, it’s clear that while some aspects of the Bill may be adjusted, the direction is toward greater security and flexibility for workers. Rufus Hood, Country Manager UK at Coople, shares our perspective: “This Employment Rights Bill will bring about considerable changes in employment practices, particularly for sectors relying on zero-hour contracts. Employers will need to keep these upcoming requirements in mind, from ensuring fair compensation for shift cancellations to reviewing policies around leave entitlements from day one. While full implementation is expected by 2026, now is the time for employers to assess their readiness for these new policies and anticipate the impact on workforce management.” As a flexible work platform, Coople is committed to support both employers and workers in navigating this new era of employment rights.
