About us
Compass Be Mental Health Support Team (MHST) works with children, young people, and families in education settings in Barnsley. We provide free, confidential support, help and advice for pupils, students and schools for issues related to mental health and emotional wellbeing. Compass Be MHST works directly across all Barnsley secondary schools providing group and one to one support for young people. In selected primary schools in Barnsley, we are working on the whole school approach as well as providing bereavement counselling and family support.

Kirsty, our Healthy Peer Relationship Practitioner has been in Barnsley College this morning for Industry Week delivering 3 talks to Health and Social Care students about the different roles within Compass Be Service and the work she does for children, young people and families in Barnsley. Kirsty said "It was great to speak to students about my career path so far and why I am so passionate about the work I do in Barnsley. Following difficult teenage years, I took a different path to gain qualifications and further my education in areas I had interest in. It was great to speak to students about the power of positive relationships and how they can potentially make a huge difference to some people's life! "
