With a network covering over 1.3 million properties across the capital, our customer base has grown by 85% in the past year as more people choose not just better prices and faster speeds, but also better service. Today we are looking back at one of our key highlights of this year – the announcement that we have signed a new finance facility of £125m, bringing total investment in the company to £1.1bn. Provided and/or arranged by our partners JP Morgan, Barclays, LBBW, SIMCo (Sequoia Investment Management Company) and Alpha Bank, the news has been warmly welcomed by existing shareholders Warburg Pincus LLC, DTCP, Railpen and NDIF, and its lenders. This week the Minister for Transformation, Andrew Western MP joined our CEO, Graeme Oxby, at Jobcentre Plus, Tower Hamlets to observe our digital skills training initiative launched in collaboration with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Since July, we've been offering free digital skills training sessions at Jobcentre Plus sites, empowering attendees with essential skills to navigate today’s digital world. Alongside this, eligible Londoners can also access 12 months of free full fibre broadband at speeds of 50 Mbps at six Jobcentre Plus locations across the city. At the event, the Minister witnessed how our Digital Ambassador team is driving positive change by improving digital literacy and helping people get back into work. Commenting at yesterday's event, our CEO Graeme Oxby said: “Our research has shown that two-thirds (69%) of Londoners view broadband in the same way they view their gas, water, and electricity services. To apply for new jobs, contact a GP or access government services, a reliable internet connection is key, as are digital skills, and we’re proud to be working alongside the DWP and Jobcentre Plus to bring full fibre broadband to those who need it most."
