💎 At Clear Cut, we’re all about nurturing talent, helping both career changers and trainees grow into impactful financial planners through dedicated training and mentorship. 💼 But there’s a challenge: in our recent recruitment drive, only 2 out of 50 applicants were women! This isn’t about men against women - it’s about the clear under-representation of women in financial planning. On the FCA register there are only 16% of female financial planners - this needs to change! ✨ This got us thinking: what better way to show how rewarding a career in financial planning can be for women than by spotlighting some of our own incredible team members? 🎉 Starting with Jemma, who joined Clear Cut in 2015 and has flourished as a leader ever since. From achieving her Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning in 2019, becoming a Practice Manager in 2020, to rising as our Head of Operations, Jemma exemplifies excellence and resilience, helping shape Clear Cut’s success every step of the way. On Friday, she’s attending the Annual Get Together for the Master Practitioners Club! 🌟 Jemma’s story is just one example of what’s possible. 💎Annual Team Building Day💎 We couldn’t finish the year without showcasing some photos from our summer Annual Team Building Day! After our quarterly team meeting, we hit the road to Manchester and stepped back in time for a nostalgic trip to the Crystal Maze. From solving puzzles to racing the clock, the day was packed with teamwork, laughs, and maybe the occasional "90s TV show déjà vu" moment. 🌟 Investment Events! 🌟 We absolutely love hosting our Investment Events and the ability to welcome clients to events at the stunning Inglewood Manor! Rob Gleeson, CFA, Chief Investment Officer at FE fundinfo, is a member of our Investment Committee and attends our events. Rob's presentation provided an insightful look behind the curtain at who FE Investments are, their rich history, and their approach to managing investments. He also shared valuable perspectives on the current investment landscape and his future outlook for the global economy. 🌍📈 🗓️ This year, we’ve doubled our investment events, running four events across the year. To increase capacity, we offered morning and afternoon sessions on two separate dates, allowing even more clients to attend and benefit from these sessions. We’re thrilled to see such strong engagement and enthusiasm from all who participated! 💡 Let’s Talk Inheritance Tax! 💡 In September, we hosted two highly engaging ‘Let’s Talk’ Inheritance Tax Planning (IHT) sessions, and we’re excited to announce that we will be hosting more IHT events in 2025. 📊 Morning Session – For Our Professional Connections We welcomed our professional connections for a CPD-accredited session to explore how collaboration between financial planners, solicitors, and accountants can result in more holistic, robust solutions for clients. With IHT receipts reaching a staggering £2.8 billion between April and July, the need for integrated advice has never been greater. Together, we discussed: 🔹Practical strategies for mitigating IHT. 🔹Opportunities to combine financial planning with legal and accountancy expertise. 🔹The tools available to help families minimise avoidable tax charges and pass wealth effectively to the next generation. 🔹Jane and Charlotte demonstrated how our cashflow life planning software can bring to life a typical IHT case, visually showing how early planning can reduce IHT 📈 Afternoon Session – For Our Clients In the afternoon, we shifted focus to our clients, helping them understand the impact of IHT and the importance of intergenerational planning. 🎉 A Truly Golden Evening for a Wonderful Cause 🌟 We were so proud to sponsor the GOLD Charity Ball on Saturday at Chester Cathedral, hosted by the incredible Helen Watson, Partner and Head of Employment Law at Aaron & Partners LLP, in aid of Claire House Children's Hospice. Over 350 guests came together for an unforgettable evening of glamour, entertainment, and generosity. The stunning cathedral was brought to life with breathtaking Cirque du Soleil-inspired performances, a fantastic band, and an incredible atmosphere. The dedication of everyone involved, from Helen and the team at JayKay Events Judith Kenyon to the brilliant caterers - Cheeky Chilli Event Catering, ensured the night was nothing short of spectacular. Helen Johnson bravely shared her very personal experience of Clarie House; it was a moving and courageous speech. Her son James’s short and very precious life was supported by Clarie House they contacted her daily and they help them to make every day special creating lifelong memories A heartfelt thank you to Helen for her tireless fundraising efforts and her passion for supporting Claire House. The energy in the room reflected the profound impact of this charity, and we feel privileged to have been part of it. It was Helen’s tenth charity ball in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice, but she has also run marathons for the charity over the years and will take on the New York Marathon for her 50th Birthday a week before the ball, in November this year. She has cycled across the world and hosted smaller bespoke events for numerous years Helen remains a long serving Ambassador of Claire House after 12 years on the Board, latterly as Chair seeing the opening of the charity’s second hospice in Liverpool with a view to caring for more children with life limiting and life threatening conditions and providing more support and respite to their families. ✨ Client Appreciation Event ✨ On Wednesday, we hosted a special Client Appreciation Evening, bringing together our valued clients at the stunning Inglewood Manor to celebrate and express our gratitude for the trust, loyalty, and incredible community surrounding Clear Cut. The event was a heartwarming reminder of the family culture we strive to foster daily. From engaging conversations to shared laughter, the evening embodied the spirit of togetherness we hold dearly! A highlight of the night was the wonderful performance by the Decibellas Choir, an award-winning charitable choir - whose uplifting songs added a festive sparkle! There was an opportunity for donations, as this year they are proudly supporting Snow Angels, a remarkable organisation dedicated to helping older adults, including those living with dementia, retain their independence. 💎New Clear Cutter! 💎 Meet Robert McGeachie, our newest Client Services Associate at Clear Cut Financial Planning! 🎉 With 18 months of experience in mortgage advising and self-studying for the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipFA), Rob brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. Before his career in finance, he lived in the USA with his wife after both completing their teaching degrees. Rob is now excited to support our clients in meaningful ways and grow his career with us. After moving into our first house and changing jobs you can imagine it was quite stressful, however Clear Cut have really helped me settle in.
