Many of our team are based in and around the West Midlands - so we recently organised a team get together in Birmingham. Spending the day working together and then the evening relaxing and eating together, was a great way to finish up 2024. We're looking forward to what 2025 brings - and more time making in-person connections! #teamwork #xmasdinners #humanexperience

Last week some of our Cielo Costa UK team got together for a dinner in London 😋 We combined two days of 2025 strategic planning with some great food, drink and conversation 🗣️ As a remote team we value in-person get togethers, and make sure these happen on a regular basis. It was a chance to reflect on the journey so far in 204 and to look forward to what's to come in 2025 ⏩ Taking individual and collective ownership for our goals, and facing the future with courage - we're predicting an exciting year ahead!

In the UK, November was Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month: a time to spotlight the mental health challenges faced by men and to encourage open dialogue about mental wellbeing. This month-long observance aims to address the stigma that often prevents men from seeking help for mental health issues and to promote awareness of the high rates of mental health problems and suicide among men. In our latest Lunch and Learn, we wanted to delve into this topic and create an open discussion within the team through discussing: 👉 Breaking the stigma 👉 Barriers to seeking help 👉 Signs and symptoms 👉 How to help 👉 Promoting mental wellbeing As a team, we are keen to talk about topics that aren't talked about enough as understanding this journey together will help us to create a more supportive environment 🌟 #mensmentalhealth #mentalhealth #menshealth #anxiety #depression #suicideprevention #selfcare #itsokaynottobeokay #wellbeing

Does Apple think AI is for the lazy, lying and stupid?! Apple's latest "I am genius" ad campaign for Apple Intelligence (links in the comments) paints a strange picture. It features characters who are, frankly, lazy, deceitful, and devoid of work ethic. These people avoid accountability and use AI to cover up their shortcomings. And revel in smug self-satisfaction as if they've achieved something remarkable. In one ad, a man who's done nothing all day crafts an email using AI to pretend he's been busy. In another, someone unprepared for a meeting uses AI to feign expertise, presenting someone else's work as his own. Bella Ramsay's character blatantly lies to her friend about already reading her email using AI in real time. 🤥 Is this Apple's view of its customers? Instead of addressing real challenges or inspiring creativity, they trivialise effort, authenticity, and thoughtfulness. Did they expect us to laugh along? Or find it "cool"? 🤦♂️ Apple was once synonymous with "thinking different"—empowering people to push boundaries and achieve more. But this AI direction feels out of step with that ethos. ⛔ AI should elevate our experience, not replace genuine effort with superficial shortcuts. Therefore, these tools should save time, enhance creativity, and foster deeper connections—not diminish authenticity or critical thinking. If you're using AI but still spending the same amount of time to achieve less meaningful outcomes, are you genuinely winning? 🤔 Steve Jobs famously separated the original Mac team into their own building to give them the freedom to build something revolutionary. That decision helped define Apple's legacy. Tim Cook should take a page from that playbook and separate the AI team from not just the rest of Apple, especially its AI, before it's too late! 🐌
