So, here are some practical, easy-to-implement tips that I’m sure going to help lot of friends: ✅ Automate to shut down resources after hours (eg Dev VMs). ✅ Monitor Storage, unused snapshots, old backups. ✅ Conduct Regular audits to identify idle or underutilized resources. ✅ Set Up Billing alerts & Budgets to track control cost. ✅ Monitor and track utilization of Reserved and Spot Instances. ✅ Use Cloud Monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor. ✅ Use Cost Optimization Tools like AWS Trusted Advisor ✅ Implement consistent tagging to categorize resources by environment (prod, test, dev) and projects. ✅ Use custom dashboards ex: Grafana (integrate with CloudWatch, Prometheus, or other data sources). ✅ Analyse trends in resource usage to predict future needs and optimize accordingly There are also some excellent recommendations from other folks. What truly matters: The number of certificates on your CV or the skills you actually apply in your work? Since completing my AWS Solutions Architect certification, I have revisited the curriculum multiple times, implemented real-world projects, and continue to explore new services. For me, the real value lies in how these certifications deepen my understanding and enhance my contribution at work. Recently, I also completed Harvard University's CS50 program, one of the best computing courses I’ve done in recent times🎓. It felt like going back to university, revisiting the basics, challenging myself, and learning from some of the best computer science instructors in the world. As someone who didn’t have the opportunity to attend IIT or IIM, pursuing CS50 with Harvard was my way of pushing my boundaries.
