Respite care for children with complex disabilities

About us

Cherry Trees is a small charity, set in the peaceful village of East Clandon, near Guildford, Surrey, providing home from home specialist short breaks for children and young people aged 0-19 with a range of disabilities including learning, physical and sensory impairments. Cherry Trees fulfills a critical service in addressing the needs of the children and parents it supports and is a lifeline for the families of more than 100 children and young people who are regularly cared for here. We recognise that children are best looked after at home, however because of the complex needs of many of our children, they require very specialist care. Cherry Trees provides professional care in a safe loving environment, where every child is valued for who they are and also provides a welcome break for their families. Cherry Trees’ vision and values include treating the child first, disability second; ensuring children progress and participate in a range of activities and positive experiences, whilst delivering sustainable support to the whole family. We believe that every child is an individual with the right to enjoy a normal pattern of life within the community, appropriate to his or her age. We advocate respect, dignity and freedom of choice for all.

  • We are delighted to announce that DMH Stallard LLP are supporting our 2024 Little Bookham Christmas Market and Grotto.   DMH Stallard LLP is an award winning law firm with offices across the Southeast. They have been supporting Cherry Trees for a number of years - from the team taking on multiple 20 mile sponsored walks to helping paint rooms in the Cherry Trees house.   This year, they are also our headline sponsor for the Little Bookham Christmas Market and Grotto. Their financial support will help ensure the event continues to raise the vital funds needed to support the children and families who rely on Cherry Trees.   Much like Cherry Trees and our approach to our care, DMH Stallard tailor their services around their clients. They do not expect all clients to be the same or to want service delivered in the same way. They focus on you, and their success depends on understanding your needs, and helping you, your family, or your business.   To find out more about DMH Stallard and their services, please visit https://lnkd.in/gvepBkq   Thank you DHM Stallard for your ongoing support.

  • We were delighted to show Zöe Franklin around Cherry Trees today to talk about our child first, disability second ethos and the need for greater quality services for children and young adults with disabilities in Surrey. Zoe is a keen advocate for children and adults with disabilities so it was refreshing to hear how passionate she is to drive positive change to improve outcomes for children with disabilities and their families.
