We are excited to announce that char.gy has secured a landmark contract to partner with Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. In an industry first, char.gy was chosen for our technical expertise to migrate 950 existing on-street charge points into our network, growing it in size by a third. Richmond and Wandsworth Councils, pioneers in the rollout of extensive on-street charging networks, launched a competitive procurement process for network operators to manage the existing infrastructure following the conclusion of their contracts under GULCS. This new and unique capability has enabled char.gy to demonstrate a valuable third option for councils nearing the end of a contract. Councils can now opt for migration instead of renewing and replacing their existing infrastructure, saving time and costs, ensuring service continuity for drivers, and fostering a marketplace that promotes higher service quality. One month in at char.gy and what an exciting start it's been! 🚗⚡ As a hardware engineer, I've had the privilege of diving into innovative EV charge point infrastructure, and it's been both challenging and rewarding. Every day brings something new as we work together to make sustainable transportation more accessible. To mark my first month at char.gy, I decided to get a little creative and bake a pie—and carve our company logo into it! It’s my way of showing appreciation for the fantastic team I’m now a part of and the incredible work we’re doing to shape the future of electric mobility. (The pie is not the intellectual property of char.gy I am the sole owner of the pie and no one in my team will be eating the pie. It is my pie.
