Homelessness is not just for Christmas, it’s 365 days a year! This is why we work with our amazing charity and referral partners all year round, helping us reach people who need our support and who are ready to get back into the world of work and onto our Barista Training Programme. One of these referral partners is Ace of Clubs, a homeless charity based in Clapham who provide essential support, food, clothing, laundry services and much more to those experiencing homelessness. We know how valuable it is for everyone to work together and the power in partnership, so if you would like to extend your support for those experiencing homelessness in 2025 beyond buying Change Please coffee, Ace of Clubs is accepting volunteers now. Onward employment is the ultimate goal for our trainees, to achieve this we work with many of our partners to open-up opportunities and hire our graduates. One of these employment partners is @ParkSports, who have hired some of graduates into their cafés. Hear from Dean, Head of Operations at Park Sports, as he shares his experience in becoming an employment partner and why he would recommend it to other companies: "The catering side of Park Sports is not our sole revenue stream, making it crucial to collaborate closely with industry experts. Over the years, we have established strong relationships with leading products, brands, suppliers, and recruiters. Since partnering with Change Please as our designated charity, we have worked closely with their team and successfully placed some of their trainees into our cafés. These employees have been nothing short of exceptional. Their high level of engagement and training reflects the quality of Change Please’s Training and Employment Programme.” Learn more about our impact and coffee at changeplease.org #changeplease #changepleasecoffee #parksports #onwardemployment

Employability workshops are an essential step in our trainee's journey, setting them up for success when finding onward employment. During the workshops trainees take part in mock interviews, these are 20 minute 1:1 sessions which provides trainees with real life interview experience and a chance to improve their interview skills. After completing the mock interviews, trainees are given constructive feedback in front of the group. The reason for this is because we believe that feedback is invaluable, and listening to feedback other people received is still helpful so that trainees can apply it to their own approach in interviews. This also creates an environment that is safe and helps them understand that constructive criticism allows us to become the best version of ourselves, as well as allowing trainees to take the time to celebrate their own wins in front of other people. This overall means that they can walk away from the session feeling extremely proud of what they achieved. Thanks to Niamh Rutherford and Rachel Arthur from Lexington Catering for hosting our latest mock interviews. To help continue workshops like these mock interviews in 2025, buy Change Please coffee today at changeplease.org #changeplease #changepleasefoundation #employabilityworkshops

Throughout the barista training programme, trainees will work at different Change Please coffee bars across London, giving them the chance to experience different working environments and variety of skills from different trainers. Hear from Zeme as he shares his experience at change please so far: “My training with Change Please has been brilliant, I have learned a lot and the trainers and other staff I worked with are supportive. So far, I have already been into 3 different sites, all the trainers were helpful and keen share to their coffee knowledge. Circulating between the different branches helped me to develop different skills. I have found I learn at least new aspect of coffee from each trainer. After the course I plan to work as a barista full time. The Journey with Change Please is the foundation for my future.” #changeplease #baristatraining
