It has truly been an outstanding year for the Chancerygate Foundation. We have had two graduations, three new students, multiple summer work experiences, and two year-in-industry placements. Our thanks to all those who have supported us! We look forward to seeing what 2025 holds for the foundation and students. When the House of Commons is more diverse than the real estate industry, it’s time for change.
About us
We’ve seen firsthand the lack of diversity and opportunity within the UK’s real estate industry. For too long, success in property has been too reliant on what school you went to, who your parents knew, where you lived, where you grew up, and what colour skin you might have. Not any more. The Chancerygate Foundation was set up because we believe every black minority ethnic student should have an equal opportunity to access the real estate profession. Not just through support or big campaigns, but directly; through bursaries, mentorship and paid work experience to help even the most disadvantaged students get the best start. The Chancerygate Foundation programme supports students directly and proactively — through education, access to real work experience, and, of course, financially — to help give students an unbeatable start to their career in real estate, no matter their background.

The ELEVATE Programme is a careers and employability skills accelerator programme for Black African, Caribbean, and mixed heritage students at Kingston University, now in its fourth year. We had the pleasure of attending with all five of our Kingston University students: Paris, Malachi, Devonte, Prince, and Zainab. The event’s keynote speaker, Eddie Kadi, shared inspiring insights about his journey from Kingston University to a successful career in TV and comedy. #Kingstonuni #students #BHM

We were absolutely over the moon to see Tyreece graduate yesterday with a First Class Honours degree in Building Surveying! His hard work and determination over the last three years have truly paid off. Congratulations, Tyreece! #graduate #graduation #firstclasshonours
🎓Happy to announce that I've completed my Building Surveying degree with First Class Honours from London South Bank University !🥳 What started as a challenging 3 year journey has transformed into one of my life's most rewarding chapters. While I'm relieved to have crossed the finish line, I'm incredibly grateful for every experience that shaped me along the way. None of this would have been possible without my incredible support system. To my family: your unwavering encouragement kept me going through the late nights and tough roadblocks throughout the journey. A special thank you to the Chancerygate Foundation for their invaluable support throughout this journey. To LSBU and all the mentors who guided me: thank you for providing the foundation for my future career. #graduation #buildingsurveying #firstclasshonours #lsbu #chancerygatefoundation

We are thrilled to share a momentous achievement for one of our students. Kemi Omoyele, has officially graduated with a 2:1 degree from Kingston University, marking a significant milestone as our very first graduate. But the celebrations don’t stop there – Kemi has also secured a graduate scheme placement at JLL. We couldn’t be prouder of Kemi’s hard work, dedication, and success. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey, and we know great things are on the horizon for her. Congratulations, Kemi! Your accomplishment is an inspiration to many. Here's to many more achievements and celebrations ahead! #graduation #kingstonuni Amanda Walker

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Charlotte Edwards, Early Careers Lead, at Lockton's head office. Charlotte hosted an engaging employability workshop for our students, providing insights on how to craft a standout CV, highlighting essential skills to mention, and offering valuable tips for improvement. A big thank you to Charlotte Edwards and Jonathan Hackett for dedicating their time to support our students' professional growth. The session was followed by our end of year get together celebrating positive grades, especially for Tyreece Phillips, who had just found out he has achieved a first class honours degree. Congratulations Tyreece!

A huge thank you to Faith Locken for inviting our students to the We Rise In Leadership Summit sponsored by Montagu Evans. It was a wonderfully inspirational evening with empowering discussions from the five panellists and Lottie Whyte, as guest speaker, all of whom shared their journey to success and leadership styles with honesty and passion. This event gave our students the opportunity to network with successful black professionals, and more importantly, recognise the heights they can aspire to. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with We Rise In and expanding our network of support. Jennie Dorsaint Louis Maycock Nelma A. Gabriel Ajala Zafar Bhunnoo

More great news! Congratulations to Tyreece, one of the first students from our foundation, graduating from London South Bank University this year. He has secured a fantastic graduate position with Taylor Wimpey plc. We are extremely proud and happy for Tyreece. His outstanding work ethic, eagerness to ask questions, and the brilliant feedback he has received from recent work experiences have all been a credit to him. Here is Tyreece onsite with Harmonix Construction Ltd at Metroplex Park, Tolworth. Gearoid Keane praised Tyreece for his passion for the construction industry, noting that he is inquisitive, hard-working, and punctual. We look forward to watching Tyreece’s career soar in the coming years. Well done, Tyreece!
