October is Tyre Safety Month, charity TyreSafe’s flagship campaign to raise awareness of the critical role tyres play in road safety. As part of the campaign, they launched their “Caught in the A.C.T” acronym, which encourages drivers to check their tyre air pressures, condition, and tread. It was Charity Day last Tuesday at Car Care Plan, our Complaints Manager Louise Hayton organised a number of fundraising events from bake sales, raffles and even a silent auction for a chance to win amazing prizes to raise money for St John Ambulance!   Here's a few words from Louise herself on how the Charity Day went: I wanted to challenge myself to something I’ve not done before and I was successful in getting a charity place to run the London Marathon for St John Ambulance, which I will be taking part in on April 27th 2025. In exchange of a place, I have to raise a minimum of £2,000 and I approached our HR Team for a charity place. During the day, I raised £853. Directors in Car Care Plan (CCP) challenged colleagues to a step competition! Gavin Tinch (CCP Group Director of Risk, Compliance and Business Support Services), Andrew Radi (CCP Chief Operating Officer) and Simon Wright (CCP Chief Financial Officer) challenged their Car Care Plan colleagues to get more steps than they did from 1 July – 14 July. The challenge saw 60 employees take part, with over 7.7 million steps walked in total, and averaging 128,538 steps per person. The Directors totalled the following steps: Simon Wright – 248,681 steps Andrew Radi – 218,493 steps Gavin Tinch – 183,675 steps Our top six walkers, who also beat all three directors and will receive a £50 Gift card include: Jo Dyson – 412,970 steps Krystian Cichocki – 312,168 steps Louise Hayton – 303,639 steps Katy Rushton – 263,724 steps Philip Clark – 255,337 steps Jason Campbell – 253,313 steps The following four employees have all beaten at least one Director: Meyrick Jones, Paul Smith, Dean Smith and Richard Hinchcliffe. Well Done to everyone who took part :)
