About us
We are passionate about making exciting, unusual and delicious wines available to everyone. We make wines in smaller formats so that you can discover something remarkable without having to spend more. As our wines are in a smaller servings, you don’t have to drink too much, or throw away half a bottle. Our cans are aluminium which is infinitely recyclable so there’s that added feel good factor too. We believe that wine should be accessible, driven by grape variety and most importantly flavour. Wine shouldn’t be about complicated jargon or assumed knowledge, or forever waiting for that special occasion to open an excellent bottle. Our products are all about the grapes, flavours, aromas and textures in our wines, and we hope you’ll love them as much as we do.

We've been featured on the brilliant Eat Sleep Wine Repeat podcast! Ben Franks was recently a guest on Janina Doyle's podcast where they discussed all the intricacies of premium wine in can - from sourcing to canning and debunking all the myths in between. Do have a listen (and if you want to crack of Gamay whilst you listen, be our guest 🍷).
Did you miss one of the latest episodes with Ben Franks co-founder of Canned Wine Co. (a brand making waves by doing things differently. Instead of the usual bulk production, Canned Wine Co. sources premium single-varietal wines from Europe’s top vineyards, putting quality first.) Recently, I had the chance to visit the stunning Loire Valley, where I met winemaker Lionel Gosseaume and tasted his premium Gamay—first from the bottle, then from the can. The incredible part? You could barely tell the difference! And so this episode is digging deeper into the art and science of quality wine canning. Get ready to learn about: The challenges of canning premium wines The tiny PH limits for canning wine and problems with Sauvignon Blanc The 2 year shelf life on these cans More on their Old Vine Gamay And comparing Gamay from the Loire to Beaujolais The wine region for Sauvignon Blanc in the Loire: Oisly Sustainability of canned wines Technical understanding of how to can wine And the debunking of canned wine myths https://lnkd.in/e_9e7E8J #winepodcast #wine #cannedwine #wineeducation #sustainablewine #winesustainability #gamay #sauvignonblanc #loirevalley

In 2023, Waitrose & Partners became the first retailer to move all permitted small format wines out of glass and into cans, leaning into formats with a smaller carbon footprint than glass. In their latest food & drink trend report, they've shared that canned wine sales are up 36% this year. We're delighted to see this growth of the category and look forward to see this number grow in 2025, as more people discover just how good it can be and opt for high quality serves. Special thank you to Emma Penman for your help growing this category and showing that premium wine comes in more than just bottles! We’ll leave you with one of our favourite lines from the report: “When the industry innovates to reduce its carbon footprint and combat waste, we should raise a toast – and the wine doesn’t have to come from a bottle.” Points to anyone who can spot our Verdejo and Gamay in the report 👀

Happy Black Friday? For the last few years, we've decided to opt out of any Black Friday sales and discounts. This year, we’re upholding our pledge to promote conscious shopping to avoid the pressure of sales now and forever. In our latest Sustainable Sips Lauren Blanchard shares her thoughts on the pressures of this sales period on the planet, on individuals and on brands. She also takes a look at alternative approaches to Black Friday. Have you seen any brands doing Black Friday a little differently this year? We'd love to hear about any unique approaches.

Welcome (back) to our Sustainable Sips series! On Earth Day 2023 we began a blog series aiming to champion a new level of transparency around what it means to grow sustainably as a start-up. We opened the conversation about challenges and nuances we face in trying to build a sustainable brand and highlight small and big wins on our sustainability journey. So far, we've covered our experience undergoing certifications like Positive Luxury, the challenges of incorporating sustainability into different parts of our business (from sales trips to office moves) and the ongoing debate of whether wine can be both organic and sustainable. Today, we're launching the series as LinkedIn newsletter, upholding (and adding a bit more public accountability...) our intention of being conversation starters and driving open debate in the industry. Read Rachael's piece on on the 2024 harvest and what it tells us about increasing climate extremes, with takes from Wiston Estate, Lionel GOSSEAUME, Markus Huber and Tenuta Viglione. We hope you'll join us on this journey, and share your learnings on the way 🍃
What can this harvest tell us about the reality of increasing climate extremes?
