It was brilliant to host Legal & General's inaugural Connecting Capital event at our Circle Square campus in Manchester recently. Key highlights included hearing from António Simões, Laura Mason-Byers and our CEO Chris Oglesby during the introductory fireside chat, as well as our Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Kath Mackay in an insightful workshop covering innovation ecosystems. 👉 The event brought together L&G's unique ecosystem of partners including innovators, financiers, central government, local leaders, place makers and institutional investors from across Europe, and explored the transformative power of partnerships to help drive investment outperformance and create opportunities to collaborate more closely, driving their shared ambition for sustainable, inclusive societal growth. We're supporting demand for specialist workspace in Manchester, having committed £243m of investment in developments across the city centre in this past year alone, including bringing forward projects totalling 727,000 sq ft of new workspace. Redevelopments like Pall Mall, King's House and 117-119 Portland St. are undergoing incredible transformations, while new developments such as Greenheys, Citylabs 4.0 and No.3 Circle Square - which is due to complete in April 2025 - are progressing quickly. We've also seen the redevelopment of Bond this year and Renold Building - the first refurb at the newly renamed £1.7bn innovation district and neighbourhood, Sister, in partnership with the The University of Manchester. It's been an incredibly exciting year, and we can't wait to push ahead with more in 2025 🙌

Last week, we held the Female Founders Pitching Competition final at Innovation Birmingham! The four-week programme was designed to support Birmingham's female student entrepreneurs in overcoming the barriers they face. With £3,000 and £2,000 up for grabs to kick-start their entrepreneurial journeys, a panel of judges assessed the finalists live on the night! Run by University of Birmingham, Aston University, University College Birmingham and Birmingham City University - and co-sponsored by Bruntwood SciTech and HSBC - we were delighted to host such an inspiring event at our Birmingham campus.
