  • Creating Places People Prefer this Christmas – season's greetings from our campuses 🎄 We've been working up a range of unforgettable, festive experiences for our customers and residents around our London campuses this winter. From live music, wreath-making workshops, and cocktail masterclasses to a host of seasonal food experiences around our places, we've been making sure the community gets to unwrap a little holiday spirit. This year, we're also proud to continue our work with Calling London, supporting their charitable coat donation collections at our Paddington Central and Regent's Place campuses. Over 10,000 coats have been donated across London so far, to be distributed to charities and food banks supporting those in need. Thank you to everyone that has taken part! #CommitAndCollaborate #Christmas #PlacesPeoplePrefer

  • How much do you know about Norton Folgate's history? Our 330,000 sq ft mixed-use development is a perfect mix of a carefully preserved cultural heritage and best-in-class sustainable office and retail space. Originally used as a Roman burial ground and then as the site of the Priory of St Mary's Spital, today Norton Folgate is a vibrant area full of exciting retail, restaurants and bars, set right next to Shoreditch, Liverpool Street and the City. ▶️ Watch AKT II's video below to learn more about the unique background of the neighbourhood and how we've worked with Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, Stanton Williams, Morris+Company and DSDHA to bring the project to life! #NortonFolgate #Retail #Offices #NoPlaceLikeHere

Brick, chic, and two joining basements – Norton Folgate is where #London’s past meets its future ...   At the interface between the East End and the City of London, this beloved but previously neglected neighbourhood has been revived by British Land and turned into dynamic spaces for businesses of all sizes, while staying true to the vibrant #Spitalfields spirit.   We have worked with architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, Stanton Williams, DSDHA and Morris+Company to bring a fresh architectural energy to the heart of London and breathe new life into the area.   In order to realise the project team's aim of retaining as much of the existing buildings as possible, we've had to pull several structural bunnies out of the hat.   Watch our film below to find out how we merged yesterday with tomorrow! How do we use energy data to support our customers? Did you know we were among the first UK property companies to focus on energy efficiency in our buildings, piloting and deploying automated metering systems across our portfolio as early as 2009. We recently spoke with one of our supplier partners, Thomas McCrossin, Director of Energy & Sustainability at Technik-IMS, who has spent a decade supporting us on our decarbonisation journey. He shares the significant results he has seen from an extensive investment in energy data and close work with our customers: "With access to live data, technical services teams quickly started identifying improvement opportunities," says McCrossin. "By 2020, energy intensity across the entire portfolio had reduced by 55% versus 2009 – so when energy prices skyrocketed around 2021, businesses in British Land buildings weren’t hit as hard as many London occupiers because significant energy savings had already been achieved." • A wide green communal space filled with people in front of 10 Exchange Square at British Land's Broadgate campus.
  • Introducing our new guide, ‘Full Circle, Full Potential: British Land’s Approach to the Circular Economy,’ developed in partnership with 3XN/GXN. This guide outlines our comprehensive approach to advancing the circular economy, highlighting the critical role of circulating materials within the built environment to maximise their potential. Our commitment to materials reuse, repair, remanufacturing and repurposing has led us to develop a standardised approach for each stage of the materials lifecycle. Hear from our Head of Environmental Sustainability, Matt Webster, and Senior Sustainability Manager, Sandra Tidholm Sezgin, as they discuss how we are driving our circular economy forward within the built environment – we don’t have all the answers, but believe widespread adoption is essential to achieving lasting impact. Stay tuned as we break down the guide’s insights and practical takeaways across our channels in the coming weeks. Read our guide here: https://lnkd.in/eVXj4SwR

  • Last week, we launched the inaugural 'Founders Connect' at The Paper Yard in Canada Water, a new event series bringing together founders, startup leaders and engineers driving the next wave of climate tech innovation. In partnership with Prosemino and Climate Connection, this initiative connects entrepreneurs with a like-minded network. The event featured insights from Tom Heenan, Co-Founder and CEO of Gaussion, on scaling their climate tech business, key challenges and successes, alongside expert sessions on setting up a lab, pitching, financial modelling, and more. Thanks to all who joined, and if you're a founder or know someone who could benefit from joining Founders Connect, keep an eye out for the next event in Spring 2025. #CommitAndCollaborate #StartUp #ClimateTech #CanadaWater

We have celebrated yet another important milestone in the development of our state-of-the-art, 750,000 sq ft world-class building at Broadgate. We marked reaching the lowest point of 2 Finsbury Avenue's basement excavation with a 'Bottoming Out' ceremony, held 17 metres below ground, which showcased the collaborative work and innovative engineering that made this project possible. At the event, our CEO, Simon Carter, and Head of Development, David Lockyer joined project partners 3XN/GXN and Sir Robert McAlpine to commemorate this milestone. Designed to meet the growing demand for sustainable, smart-enabled office spaces in central London, the development will feature flexible, all-electric workspaces targeting BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum certifications on completion. Thank you to everyone who attended and to our wider supply chain for their ongoing hard work – we look forward to sharing more updates as 2 Finsbury Avenue continues to take shape! 📈 It's been quite the year at Teesside Park! Our North East retail and leisure park celebrated seven new openings this year, welcoming top brands across clothing, cosmetics, sports and more to Stockton-on-Tees. These exciting new additions to one of the region's top shopping and leisure destinations highlight the strong demand from popular brands to establish themselves in our places. With occupancy rates at 99% across our retail portfolio, we are seeing the best occupational markets in over a decade. Affordable, adaptable and accessible, our format caters to the speed and convenience today’s consumers demand while the layouts equally support the rise of omni-channel retail, ideal for click-and-collect services.
