As 2024 draws to a close, we would like to wish our team, clients, consultants, and contractors and all the best for 2025. We would also like to take this opportunity to reflect on some of the highlights from the last 12 months (see below article) in what has been another busy and successful year. “As we approach the end of 2024, it’s important to pause and express gratitude. Our team has worked tirelessly over the last twelve months to deliver exceptional projects across Scotland that prioritise sustainability, accessibility, and innovation. I am immensely proud of the milestones we’ve reached, from transformative housing developments to the reinvention of commercial spaces – accomplishments that wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our staff and the trust our clients place in us. On behalf of the entire Bracewell Stirling team, I would like to wish all our clients a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!” - David Keith, Senior Partner #BracewellStirling #2024Wrapped #2024inReview

Our longstanding client, Orkney Builders, kindly invited Bracewell Stirling to join them at the recent NHBC awards in Glasgow. Our Senior Associate, David Lawrie, joined in the celebrations as the Orkney Builders team enjoyed a clean sweep of awards. Site Manager Eric Wallace was among the 36 Quality Award winners for his work at Orkney Builders' Walliwall housing development. He then went on to win one of 11 Seal of Excellence Awards, followed by one of the event's top honours – the Regional Award for Scottish Small Builder of the Year, accepted on behalf of Orkney Builders. The Regional Award winners will now go on to compete for the ultimate prize in housebuilding – the NHBC Pride in the Job Supreme Award, which will be unveiled at a gala ceremony in London in January 2025. Having been involved in the various phases of this site since 2014, Bracewell Stirling is delighted for Eric and Orkney Builders and wishes them every success in London! #NHBCawards #OrkneyBuilders #HousingDevelopment

Bracewell Stirling are pleased to see this amazing little project reach a successful conclusion after almost 20 years of involvement in the project. The project first arrived on the drawing board in 2006 as part of the larger Dingwall North development group which was a collaboration between a number of developers working together to deliver much-needed housing in the town. The site at the time was owned by Tulloch Homes. It was possibly the most challenging area of the development being such a small site with many site and infrastructure constraints, being part of a tree protection order, ecology and other environmental issues all to be overcome. At various times over the years the project looked as though it might go ahead but each time it teetered on the edge of progression, economic challenges to address the site constraints further complicated by recession, Covid and even further elevated construction costs prevented it moving forward. Just as it looked as though the Planning consent would lapse and the project would never happen, Capstone Construction stepped in to take on the site in collaboration with Highland Council to deliver the site for 100% affordable homes. This partnership worked through the final remaining challenges with assistance from Bracewell Stirling Consulting | Architects to bring the project to a successful conclusion. Almost 20 years after the first sketches were put on the drawing board it’s amazing to see it finally complete providing much needed affordable housing for Dingwall. #AffordableHousing #SocialHousing #ArchitecturalServices

Bracewell Stirling recently secured planning approval for 86 new homes for Persimmon Homes on Phase 2a of the ongoing Fairfield development. We have also submitted a Stage 1 building warrant, which will allow construction to begin on this part of the site shortly. Located adjacent to the main site access from Fairfield Road, this phase benefits from substantial open space immediately to the south, where the existing core path runs east-west across the development. An application for the next two phases to be developed by Persimmon Homes has also been submitted. Phases 2b and 2c propose 74 homes and a further extension of the central tree-lined spine road. Once complete, Phases 2a, 2b, and 2c will together form the northern edge of the proposed central public parkland, featuring end of line SUDs in the form of vibrant landscaped rain gardens, a series of public art installations, and the existing Branshill to Lornshill core path. #PlanningApproval #BuildingWarrant #ResidentialDevelopment
