Blue Sky's 2️⃣nd EO Birthday celebrations x Christmas buffet 😋🎄 Where has the time gone?🤯 2 years ago, Blue Sky Financial Planning officially became an Employee-Owned company so we thought the best way to celebrate the occasion, was of course, with food! Everyone had the task of bringing (or making) an item of food. The favourites of the day being Victoria Carroll's christmassy cupcakes and Johanna Payne-Knauf's cheese & pineapple Harry the hedgehog😂 A very jolly & festive day in the office, as everyone wore their favourite Christmas jumpers as well as the team raising just under £100 for Mission Christmas👏. A special mention to Gary Neild who went above and beyond by even dying his beard grey!🎅 Well, I think it was dye anyway... 🤔 #EO #Christmas #Celebration #Team #Community

💫 Reflecting on a Year of Resilience and Community at the Dorset Chamber AGM and Christmas Lunch 💫 Yesterday, Lesley Keets and Johanna Payne-Knauf had the pleasure of attending the Dorset Chamber AGM and Christmas lunch at the Highcliffe Marriott Hotel in Bournemouth. The AGM highlighted the challenging climate for businesses in 2024, yet the attendees were heartened to hear about the positive strides Dorset Chamber has made. Despite the hurdles, the Chamber hosted numerous well-attended events, fostering a strong sense of community and support among local businesses. The Christmas lunch was a great opportunity to connect with fellow business leaders, share experiences from the past year, and discuss plans for 2025. The Highcliff Marriott Hotel treated everyone to a delicious three-course meal, which was followed by a raffle to raise funds for WESSEX HEARTBEAT LIMITED. This charity is dedicated to supporting cardiac care for patients and their families in the Wessex region. As we look ahead to 2025, there is a sense of optimism and determination in the air. Lesley, Emma and Theresa had the privilege of attending the eoa Conference at the Telford International Centre this week, and what an incredible experience it was! Being part of the Employee Ownership (EO) community is something we deeply value at Blue Sky, and this event truly highlighted why. The team from Paramo were particularly inspirational, sharing their journey and insights that left a lasting impact on us. The keynote speakers provided us with valuable perspectives and actionable insights that we are excited to bring back to our own practices too. One of the most enriching aspects of the conference was the opportunity to share stories and experiences with fellow EO businesses. These conversations reinforced our belief in the power of employee ownership and the positive impact it has on our work culture and success. We feel fortunate to have been involved in such a great event and are proud to be part of a community that champions collaboration, innovation, and shared success.

Georgia May Williams Jenny Moynihan The break out sessions, have been insightful Harry Pocknell, Jess Comolly-Jones REC CMI, Jeremy Gadd, Corrine Thomas, Verity McVey and Javier Bajer our keynote speaker reminded us of the importance of the difference between behaviours and beliefs. He also talked about the ‘Why’ which we found a great deal of synergy with, as this is something we talk about a great deal at Blue Sky Financial Planning. It has also been wonderful to catch up with our friends at Grapevine | IT & Comms, Salad and Rubicon People Partnership. Wow what a night! 🎉 We were proud to have a table at the MYTIME Young Carers Ball last night. It was a truly inspirational evening listening to the stories of young carers who have been through so much but with the support of MYTIME and their own hard work and determination have achieved so much! Jemima Jennings and Craig Jefferson are both examples of this. They spoke candidly and bravely last night about their backstories and journey to becoming MYTIME's first young carers to be appointed to their Board of Trustees. They were truly inspirational and demonstrated an authenticity about MYTIME that truly resonates with us here at Blue Sky, as staying true to who you are and what you believe in, is also at the heart of everything we do. Thank you to MYTIME Young Carers for such an enjoyable and educational evening and to Frettens Solicitors, who sponsored the event. Lewis Barr did a terrific job hosting the auction, it was great to see lots of money being raised whilst having fun for such a wonderful cause.
