Based in Boston, he was previously an early team member at TempAlert (acquired by Digi), led sales for CrunchTime Information Systems, and has over 9 years of experience selling IoT and SaaS solutions into the food and grocery retail industries. Andrew’s journey with us started as an advisor, and now, we’re excited to have him full-time to lead our sales strategy and growth 🚀

Published today in Food Manufacture, how BlakBear enables the transition to digital expiry dates on food! Fixed expiry dates are a legacy system that will not exist next decade. They are great for quality and safety but cause huge amounts of unnecessary waste, because they are chosen to cover a worst-case scenario. In 10 years we will think back on printed expiry dates, and how crazy it was to let all that food go to waste. Expiry dates are chosen to cover a worst-case scenario. That's great for safety and quality, but the unspoken cost is extremely high waste (5-10% in every store, home and restaurant). Instead of printed dates, food should tell you how fresh is!
