We have started packing our Christmas Hampers.....Ready to be delivered 🎅 🎄 🎁 ❤️ 🚗 Arawak Walton Housing Association
Arawak Walton Housing Association is now the largest independent black and minority ethnic (BME) Housing Association in the North West. We work mainly in the inner cities of Manchester, Trafford and Stockport. With its roots in the African Caribbean Community, the association champions the provision of quality affordable homes and services in sustainable multi-cultural neighbourhoods. With over 1,200 homes in ownership and management, our asset base is £48 million and turnover is in the region of £6 million. Arawak Walton had a proud heritage in helping to create vibrant and sustainable multi-cultural neighbourhoods in inner city areas. With more than 30 years experience, we understand the challenges of social deprivation and exclusion and have worked hard to provide good quality, affordable housing to our tenants, regardless of age, gender or race.

Our colleagues were treated to an amazing lunch today from Manchester’s Honeypot Caribbean caterers while we said a big hello and welcome to our new Chief Executive Ulfat Hussain. Ulfat spoke of his delight at working with us and acknowledged our vibrant history and how beautiful small associations are. He talked a bit about his plans for the association for the future. It was a successful day, everyone left with full stomachs and lots of laughter. We’re excited for the next chapter. #NewChapter
It's not long now till our new Chief Executive Ulfat Hussain joins us. Ulfat recently found time in his busy diary to have a chat with John Land on the HQN podcast, discussing everything from BME Housing Associations through to the current political landscape... "You’d probably think after 30 years of having a BME housing sector we wouldn’t need BME Housing Associations anymore; however you only have to look at what happened over the summer to see that we actually need BME Housing Associations more than ever to support minority communities move forward, grow and develop” - Ulfat Hussain It's well worth a listen, so click on the link below to listen to the full HQN podcast. https://lnkd.in/e-RYxaj3
