Environment Journal shares the news about our innovative project ForestFactory® which has just completed its second round of trials, in partnership with Blenheim Palace Estate 🌳 Saplings grown in our first round of trials were found to sprout four times faster, and reach 50% greater stem diameter, compared to those from traditional nurseries 🌱 These results demonstrate how ForestFactory® can help solve challenges facing the forestry industry, including shortage of seeds and viable tree stock, changing climate conditions, and low seedling survival rates. We’re working with the International Biochar Initiative Institute to understand how biochar is perceived in the industry so we can realise its full potential as carbon storage 🌍 Whether you’re in sustainability, at a corporation, in agriculture, government, finance, or simply interested in biochar, please take this 10-minute survey now to support the future of carbon removal.
👀 Biochar Survey: We're Calling On You! To better understand what people think about biochar, we are conducting a quick survey in partnership with many associations across the industry. Whether you’re in sustainability at a corporation, in agriculture, government, finance, or simply interested in biochar, your perspective will be incredibly helpful! 🕒 It takes 10 minutes to complete this anonymous survey, and your feedback will directly contribute to our understanding of opportunities for biochar. 📋 Survey Link: https://lnkd.in/g-iG8tZf Thank you in advance for helping us deepen our understanding and impact in this area. There’s been some reasons to be hopeful with climate news this week 🌍🌱 🏭 Europe is leading the way in emissions reduction, with a significant 8.3% decrease in 2023. This is largely thanks to the EU's Emissions Trading System (ETS), which has driven down emissions in key sectors like electricity, heat generation, and industrial manufacturing. 🌍 Meanwhile, at COP29, a major breakthrough has been made with the agreement on a framework for global carbon markets under Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement. This will enable countries and companies to trade carbon credits, supporting emission reduction goals and the distribution of climate finance. To meet climate targets agreed during the Paris Agreement, we need to continue reducing emissions and leverage high-quality carbon removals. Strong legislation, like the EU ETS, and the outcomes of COP29 are crucial to driving this change.

The team is hard at work, planting 2,000 saplings from our ForestFactory® project, with Blenheim Palace Estate, which uses innovative farming technologies to increase the effectiveness, survival rate and speed of reforestation projects 🌳 https://lnkd.in/eDH-YK6y

Our revolutionary partnership project with Blenheim Palace Estate, ForestFactory®, is entering its second phase 🌱 Following the success of the initial trials, 2,000 more saplings are being planted across the estate this week. The findings from the first phase of planting speak for themselves… 🌳 The initial trial phase found saplings grown in ForestFactory® grow four times faster than nursery grown equivalents. They are also sturdier with a wider diameter at desired planting height, helping them to grow stronger 🌳 Trials also show saplings grown and planted in biochar grow taller and thicker, which indicates both of tree sturdiness and survivability https://lnkd.in/eDH-YK6y
