What Cats Can Teach Us About Cybersecurity Let’s be honest: building a security culture in your organisation is a lot like trying to train a cat. 🐱 🔹 Start at the top. Cats follow the example of the head cat (that’s you, despite evidence to the contrary). If you’re leaving the dreamies tin open (or ignoring basic security practices), don’t be surprised when the rest of the team follows suit. 🔹 Make it relatable. Cats don’t respond to complicated commands (some might say, any commands but go with me) , and neither do humans when it comes to security training. Keep it simple—no one wants to hear about “multi-factor this” or “encryption that.” They want to know how to spot a phishing email disguised as a package from “Purrmazon.” 🔹 Celebrate good behaviour. When your cat uses the scratching post instead of your sofa, you give them a treat. The same applies to security—reward the team when they report a suspicious email or follow best practices. Like cats, building a security culture takes patience, persistence, and the occasional bribe (preferably in biscuits, not catnip). But once it’s ingrained, it’s worth the effort. 💬 How’s your organisation’s security culture? Share your tips—or feel free to throw in your best cat memes for extra credit. #CyberSecurity #SecurityCulture #Leadership #RiskManagement #CatLogic
