It’s all about data…. AI is cool but still one of the biggest challenges for customers today it’s on the data part. And this is super important because it’s something you just cannot skip. You can create a cool chatbot, virtual assistant or even re use some ML models to cluster your customers, but if the quality of your data “sucks”, the output you’ll get will suck too. Regardless if it’s ML, AI, GenAI or Agents. The output will still be the same 💩 💩💩 #ai #data #genai #agenticai Kudos to Dr. Christian Krug for his previous post on this topic 🙌

It’s difficult for us to imagine how AI is going to transform our lives and in many ways it will be for the good but we can’t take our eyes off the risks it poses. This is the tragic case of 14-year-old Sewell Setzer III, who died by suicide after interacting with a chatbot on Character.AI. Saul was a vulnerable child who fell in love with an AI posing as a therapist. The AI encouraged him to take his life so that they could be together and he did. While we all race to incorporate AI wherever we can, this incident should serve as a reminder that investment in ethical development is not an option. I simply have no words. #aiethics Acuity Data https://lnkd.in/eecQ8JAp

I came across this clip by @mattvandrick this morning and got me thinking about a question that I keep getting asked “who owns the data?” A simple question with a not so simple answer. The reality is that it depends. Just because it’s data about you does not always mean that it belongs to you especially if it was freely given to another in a form of value exchange. The interesting point that Matt is making is that the way we transact on data is changing as instead of purchasing data we are now leasing it leaving us reliant on the source to maintain our access. While in certain contexts such as intellectual property rights especially for artists is powerful while in others this shift in the balance of control can leave us vulnerable to unethical behaviour. All to say, we must be even more critical of what data (and information) we are consuming as our perceptions of the world may not be based on facts as they occurred but what others may want us to believe. Let me know what you think! #data #datamanagement #dataethics #aliciakeys Acuity Data

  • This weeks tip is a reminder that delivering data transformation requires a clear, structured plan. Data is one of the most valuable assets that an organisation can possess. To transform data into actionable insights, a clear data governance framework is essential as it provides the necessary structure, policies, and processes to ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and accessible. A well-defined data governance framework helps organisations manage their data assets effectively. It establishes accountability, assigns roles and responsibilities, and sets standards for data quality and security. This framework ensures that data is not only collected and stored efficiently but also leveraged to drive strategic decision-making. Your data strategy is the blueprint for turning raw data into meaningful business insights. It guides how data is gathered, analysed, and applied to achieve organisational goals. By prioritising data governance and strategy, businesses can uncover patterns, predict trends, and make informed decisions that enhance performance and growth. Without a clear plan, data remains an untapped resource, leading to missed opportunities and inefficiencies. Investing in data governance transforms numbers into a strategic asset that fuels innovation, improves customer experiences, and drives competitive advantage. • This weeks tip is a reminder to prioritise developing a data strategy. If we could scream this from the rooftops we would! A clear and well-defined data strategy is essential for navigating the complexities of today’s business landscape. Without a strategic roadmap, the journey to leveraging data for business success becomes longer, more challenging, and less efficient. Prioritising your data strategy ensures that your organisation has a coherent plan for managing and utilising data to drive informed decisions, innovation, and growth. A robust data strategy provides direction and purpose, aligning data initiatives with business objectives. It outlines how data will be collected, managed, analysed, and used to achieve specific goals. This structured approach helps in identifying key data priorities, allocating resources effectively, and setting measurable milestones to track progress. Moreover, a data strategy addresses critical aspects such as data governance, quality, security, and accessibility. It ensures that data is treated as a valuable asset, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization. By focusing on strategic data initiatives, businesses can uncover actionable insights, optimise operations, and enhance customer experiences. Without a clear data strategy, organisations risk fragmented efforts, inefficiencies, and missed opportunities. Data strategies not only streamline the journey but also empower businesses to stay competitive, agile, and prepared for future challenges. If you want to hear more, make sure to reach out to us. • This week we'd like to talk to you about real time data. While real-time data can be crucial in certain scenarios, it is not necessary for every report. However, ensuring that data is timely and relevant is crucial for informed decision-making and strategic planning. Timely data means providing information that is current enough to be actionable. It allows decision-makers to respond to recent trends, performance metrics, and market changes effectively. Relevant data ensures that the information presented aligns with the specific needs and objectives of the business, thereby supporting targeted analysis and decision-making. Overemphasising real-time data can lead to unnecessary complexity and costs, particularly when the nature of the decision-making process does not require such immediacy. Instead, focusing on the quality and applicability of the data ensures that insights are meaningful and can drive substantial business value. By prioritising timely and relevant data, organisations can streamline their reporting processes, reduce noise, and enhance the clarity and impact of their insights. This approach fosters more efficient and effective decision-making, ultimately supporting better business outcomes. If you want to hear more, make sure to reach out to us. • This week's tip is about cultivating a data-driven culture, an essential feature of modern businesses aiming to stay competitive and make informed decisions. When every team member embraces data in their daily operations, the organisation benefits from enhanced decision-making, improved efficiency, and a greater ability to innovate. A data-driven culture empowers employees at all levels to rely on data for insights and decisions, rather than intuition or guesswork. This shift leads to more accurate forecasting, better understanding of customer needs, and identification of new business opportunities. By making data accessibility a priority, businesses ensure that everyone can access the right information when needed, fostering a more agile and responsive organisation. To encourage this culture, it's crucial to provide easy access to relevant and accurate data. This involves implementing user-friendly data platforms, offering training on data tools and analytics, and promoting transparency in data sharing across departments. When employees see the direct impact of their data-driven decisions on business outcomes, they are more likely to continue using data effectively. Without a data-driven culture, businesses risk making decisions based on incomplete information or personal biases, leading to missed opportunities and suboptimal performance. By embedding data use into the core of the business culture, organizations can drive growth, efficiency, and innovation. If you want to hear more, make sure to reach out to us. • This week's tip is about prioritising high-impact data activities to maximise the value and return on investment (ROI) of your data initiatives. Instead of expending resources on low-value efficiency savings, it's essential to focus on use cases that drive business growth and significant ROI. An example of this is focusing on customer analytics which helps organisations understand customer behaviour, preferences, and trends, enabling personalised marketing, improved customer experiences, and increased loyalty. By leveraging data to gain insights into customer needs, businesses can tailor their strategies, enhance satisfaction, and ultimately drive revenue growth. Focusing on high-impact activities like customer analytics ensures that data initiatives align with business objectives and deliver tangible benefits. This strategic approach not only boosts ROI but also positions the organisation for long-term success in a competitive market. Neglecting high-impact data activities in favour of minor efficiency gains can result in missed opportunities for substantial business growth. It's essential to prioritise initiatives that offer significant value and align with the organisation's strategic goals. By concentrating on high-impact data activities, businesses can harness the full potential of their data, driving growth, innovation, and competitive advantage. If you want to hear more, make sure to reach out to us. We would be happy to help! #DataStrategy #BusinessGrowth #CustomerAnalytics #ROI
