Congratulations to the team for an amazing 20th year and to Helen Rowbotham for all the achievements. We are excited to support more disadvantaged and disabled children and young people than ever before in 2025. #StandForInclusion
What a year! In our 20th Anniversary year, Access Sport has reached more clubs, coaches, and young people than ever before, continued to develop our team, and achieved record fundraising, all thanks to our amazing supporters, partners, staff and trustees. I feel very lucky to work with so many amazing people on our shared mission to make inclusion the norm in community sport. Thank you to everyone that makes this work possible 🙏 . I also had the joy of attending the Paralympics in Paris, after six years on the Paralympics GB board and was blown away by the experience. Both our Paralympians and the team behind the team really are first class and the launch of our new Social Impact Strategy will help to ensure we use the positive power of the Paralympics to inspire further positive change for disabled people in sport, education, and society. The photos below capture how busy, fun and impactful this year has been! Whilst enabling all children and young people to access the benefits of sport is what our work is all about, we can't do it alone, hence all the fundraising, networking and sector events we have organised and supported. On a personal note, I also completed the London to Brighton Bike Ride, was on the winning team for the Commonwealth Secretariat Sport for Development Debate on AI (who would have thought! 😆) and, completed the London Marathon in 4hrs 7mins, of which I am very proud! 2025 will no doubt bring new challenges and opportunities so its now time to recharge. Merry Christmas to everyone that has made all the above possible - I look forward to continuing to work with you in the New Year! #StandforInclusion
