As the Christmas holidays are almost upon us and the focus moves on from wrapping things up at work to wrapping presents, everyone here at Aberdeen Science Centre wants to wish you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year 🎄 We're closed the 25th & 26th of December and 1st January but open every other day of the holidays for some festive science fun 🧪

Did you know that Aberdeen’s Christmas tree comes all the way from Stavanger? 🌲 We take so many things around us for granted without really thinking of where they come from, the people involved and the science used along the way. 🌍 So, this year, Aberdeen Science Centre and Vitenfabrikken have teamed up to take you along on the journey. We are delighted to reveal the Scottish winner of the Platforms of Tomorrow Challenge! Big congratulations to Ellon Academy.🎉 The winning class will soon join us for a special complimentary school trip to ASC to explore the endless possibilities of science. A big shoutout to the overall winners, Grannes Skole from Norway, who won a visit to Vitenfabrikken and £1000 toward a sustainable school project. 👏 This challenge encouraged students from North Scotland and Stavanger to imagine eco-friendly solutions for decommissioning offshore oil and gas platforms.
