  • Need help preparing for your End-Point Assessment? ✏️ Here’s some ways 1st Awards can help Apprentices get the most out of their planning meeting. 1.      Get to know your assessor At 1st Awards, we offer every apprentice the opportunity to have a planning meeting with their assessor ahead of their EPA. During this meeting, apprentices are encouraged to get to know their assessors to build rapport and get comfortable with the assessment environment. 2.      Gain reassurance and practical advice Assessments can often be a source of great nerves and anxiety. Our experienced assessors are adept at identifying and alleviating common anxieties. The planning meeting gives an opportunity to provide reassurance and offer practical advice to help apprentices feel more confident on the day. 3.      Familiarise yourself with the Assessment plans As well as offering an initial introduction, during their planning meeting, apprentices will receive a detailed breakdown of their upcoming evaluation. They will be provided with standard specific toolkits and project support templates designed to get them feeling prepared for the big day. 4.      Ask questions While this may feel like a fairly obvious one. Questions are a great way to get as much information as possible to help to alleviate any uncertainties with the upcoming assessment. However, it is important to be conscious that assessors are under strict parameters. As such assessor may refuse to answer any leading questions. 5.      Practice, Practice, Practice Once the apprentice has completed their planning meeting and gotten all the information they need, it’s now time to practice. Apprentices are encouraged to head to Rogo to access mock exam materials to put their knowledge and skills to the test, before the real thing. #EndPointAssessment #EPATips #PlanningMeeting #1stAwards #Apprenticeship
