The College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (E&ME) is the prime hub of engineering education in Pakistan, offering the best undergraduate and graduate programs in the country. The Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME) maintains the mechanical and electrical/electronics equipment held by the Pakistan Army. In order to meet the training requirements of the Corps, EME School was established in Quetta on April 1, 1957.

Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) is set to host its first-ever DataFest in Islamabad on the 21st and 22nd of October 2024 at the Pak-China Friendship Centre. This landmark event is expected to draw considerable participation from both the public and private sectors. NUST's Department of Engineering Management and Department of Mechanical Engineering from CoE&ME, in collaboration with the National Center in Big Data and Cloud Computing (NCBC), will proudly present their cutting-edge data projects through various stalls and workshops during the fest. To promote the event and explore potential collaborations, Dr. Amjad Javed Sandho, Director General of PBS, visited NUST CoE&ME on 1st October, where he received an enthusiastic response from the students. Many students volunteered to contribute to this initiative, marking an exciting chapter in academia-industry collaboration. This partnership between PBS and NUST CoE&ME promises to drive data innovation and usher in a new era of data-driven decision-making in Pakistan.

Embarking on a new journey of leadership, Dr. Muhammad Usman Akram, the newly appointed Head of the Department of Computer and Software Engineering, plants a tree to symbolize growth, innovation, and a deep-rooted commitment to progress. Dean College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Brig Dr Nasir Rashid graced the event by his presence. Surrounded by faculty and staff, the vibrant ceremony reflects a shared vision of a flourishing future, where knowledge and the environment are nurtured together. This meaningful act marks the beginning of a legacy that promises to thrive and inspire.
