We were pleased to have Vice Principal Jeanda Au Young of W F Joseph Lee Primary School 和富慈善基金李宗德小學 join us at our final class of 2024 on Saturday. 🤩 Since becoming a Good Pool partner in 2022, WFJLPS has helped over 850 kids learn to swim! 💙Every child should have the opportunity to learn the life skill of swimming. Thank you WFJLPS for exemplifying how schools can help improve access to swimming to the wider community. We look forward to celebrating many more youth programme graduations together in the new year! #goodpool #improveacesss #EnhanceWellbeing #IgniteChange Eunice Cheung Libby Alexander Simon Holliday Victoria Poon Stephanie Ching

👋 Meet Captain Nuriasih! Our Captains are graduates of our programmes who now volunteer to support other beginner swimmers by providing pastoral care and support on deck. 👩✈️Our graduate Captains and Coaches are critical part of making our programmes welcoming and effective. 🔹Has swimming given you joy? How? 〰️ As a person who fear of water, I overcome my fear by learning to swim at Splash. I was thrilled to get in on the Beginner class. Not only gaining swim experience, knowledge and physical health, I built a lot new friendships. Now I can bravely swim in the open water. 🔹 A memorable swim experience? 〰️ My first open water swimming lesson, I was panicked and gripped the coach tightly. But now I love swimming in the ocean seeing the sky and water meet. 🔹 Who is your favourite swimmer? 〰️ Haruka Nanase, an anime character. He’s a calm character who loves being in the water and he is a very competitive swimmer. 🔹 Where is home for you? 〰️ Home is where my big family gathered together. 🔹 If you could have been the one to teach someone famous alive or dead to swim, who would it be? 〰️ Daniel Radcliffe, I love Harry Potter 🔹 Talent you wish you had? 〰️ I wish I was good at martial arts specifically kung fu. 🔹Go to karaoke song? 〰️ My love, Westlife (I am tone deaf though) 🔹Day job 〰️ Domestic worker #improveacesss #enhancewellbeing #ignitechange #everyonecanswim Joy Gabotero Stephanie Ching Daisy Luscaw Simon Holliday Libby Alexander

He’s done it! Brett Kruse is the 8th person to do the HK360Swim solo around Hong Kong Island - and with an fantastic time of 11 hours and 30mins, despite having had the swim rescheduled multiple times!🏆🤯 We’re so grateful to be the beneficiary charity of this incredible feat and to have Brett’s support. There’s still time to donate to Brett’s campaign to help 50 people learn to swim: https://lnkd.in/gdpmSJ4j 🤩 Read about Brett’s incredible swim on Hong Kong Free Press: https://lnkd.in/gfZ2uUq6 #improveaccess #enhancewellbeing #ignitechange Libby Alexander Simon Holliday Roy Pang Andrew Waters Edie Hu Andrew Kehoe Benjamin Wong

I want to continue to learn.” 🤩 In our Family Programme, parents are finally getting a chance to learn to swim while making sure their children get equipped with the life skill of swimming. Thank you LRC !
I love the LRC! They have been opening their doors for Splash classes since 2019. This relationship has flourished because of the support from the Sports Committee, LRC management and all the wonderful employers who have sponsored their helper to learn how to swim. We have worked together to find an off peak time and a class size that doesn't disrupt members usage of the facilities. And they host a small graduation celebration for the women at the end of every term. 🎉🎉🎉 Frankly every private club in Hong Kong should have a Splash class on offer but we know the objections. "The pool is heavily used." "Our members would not go for that." "We have strict rules about helpers in the club." "It would be too disruptive." Our successful partnership with the LRC has proved that all of these concerns are surmountable. We look forward to working with new Good Pool Partners in 2025! #improveaccess #enhancewellbeing #ignitechange Roy Pang Simon Holliday Joseph Tse Enrico Andrea Mattoli Alex Cheung David Roig Kurt Walter Dave Chapman Sarah Fowler Victoria Ahn Simon Jones

🤩 Splash Kids! Over the course of 10 weeks, this group of 8-10 year olds found their confidence and joy in the water. It takes a community to tackle swim literacy issues and this Splash kids graduation is an example of that: 🏘️ We partnered with Shatin Alliance Community Services Centre, to provide programmes to kids from under-resourced families they serve 🏫Our Good Pool partner, Renaissance College in Ma On Shan, generously opened up their fantastic pool for our classes 🧑🏫👩🏫👨🏫 Students from Renaissance College Hong Kong completed the Splash Coach training to volunteer as coaches 💙 Our donors and supporters enable us to open programmes like this and continue improving access to swimming Thank you to our partners and coaches and congratulations to our Splashers! If you’d like to learn more about sponsoring a Splash programmes, please reach out. #improveaccess #enhancewellbeing #ignitechange Stephanie Ching Eunice Cheung Lee Burns Libby Alexander Simon Holliday
