Rosewood Innovation Series wraps up a successful second year, recognizing three exciting startups working to make food systems more sustainable. Led by Rosewood Foundation in partnership with Brinc, the search for sustainable solutions that are reshaping the future of food solicited a pool of over 100 companies from all over the world. We’re delighted to share the top three outstanding startups who will receive grant funding from our foundation: 1. Seawise Innovative Packaging, which has created an alternative sustainable cold-chain packaging solution to Styrofoam. 2. Qarbotech, an agri-tech startup with a patented nanotechnology spray that increases farm yields, enhancing food security, livelihoods and climate resilience. 3. KIN Farms, a platform leveraging data to address challenges in the food supply chain and make low-carbon food and ingredients more accessible. Congratulations to the winning teams! By challenging legacy practices in packaging, farming and sourcing, you are paving the way for a more sustainable future through a profits-with-purpose approach. Well done also to the other five startups who made the shortlist: Big Mountain Foods, Food Rescue Hero, IXON Food Technology the moonbeam co. and Meat The Next. In March, we debuted our new global culture series, Rosewood Front Row, in Hong Kong to spotlight the intersection of hospitality, art, culture, and design. This month, we’re excited to present Behind the Journey, a limited-time exhibition launched during the widely celebrated Shanghai Art Week, and further commemorating our 10 years in China following the 2014 opening of Rosewood Beijing. Developed in partnership with LABELHOOD, a platform and community of Chinese creative talents, with artistic direction from curator Sean Kunjambu, the exhibition features the original works of acclaimed artists Wing Shya, Leslie Zhang, and Li Cha, who over the past several months have traveled to different destinations across our collection to capture A Sense of Place in their own signature styles. "As the second edition of Rosewood Front Row, Behind the Journey was created to reflect on discovery of a place, blending time, geography, and local cultures into three time-capsules for visitors to experience. With a refreshed approach and perspective, the exhibition is designed to invite viewers to connect with the world," shared Joanna Gunn, our Chief Brand Officer. The exhibition is available to experience from November 8 to 10 during West Bund Art Fair and art 021 at ROJO, one of Shanghai’s newest spaces for exploring art and culture.
