GREAT NEWS. Varma has invested +100 million EUR in our Danske Invest Emerging Markets Debt Hard Currency flagship fund*. Varma is one of Finland's leading and most respected pension insurance companies, and this new investment is the culmination of prolonged dialogue and thorough due diligence. Soeren Moerch, Head of Emerging Markets Debt at Danske Bank Asset Management, is thrilled about the new Finnish mandate: “It's a privilege to manage assets for Varma, a cornerstone of Finland's pension savings sector,” he states. Since Søren Mørch and his team took over management of the fund in November 2022, they have done a great job, with the fund outperforming its benchmark by almost 7% (swipe below for historical performance). A combination of thorough country and security selection and an advanced AI-based credit rating model has paid off. Tomi Eliasson, CFA, Head of Asset Management Sales Finland, considers the new mandate substantial evidence of Danske Bank Asset Management’s strong investment management capabilities and competitiveness among the largest investors in Finland. “We are grateful for the trust and interest that Varma has shown us,” he says. Please note that investing in the fund also carries risks of loss or underperformance. Key risk factors include active management risk, credit risk, and interest rate risk. Bonds from emerging markets also tend to be among the most volatile during periods of turmoil in financial markets. *𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘐𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘯 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘬𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘌𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘋𝘦𝘣𝘵 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘊𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺. "GOOD NEWS. Danske Bank Asset Management has joined the Nasdaq Sustainable Bond Network (NSBN) Advisory Board. Going forward, our Chief ESG Specialist, Thomas Fladby, will contribute his knowledge and experience to discussions regarding market trends, new product development, and expanded data collection within sustainable bonds. FURTHERMORE, we have added Nasdaq Sustainable Bond Network ESG data to our ESG Data platform. “This enables us to more efficiently monitor and assess how proceeds from our sustainable bond investments are used. It also further strengthens our ability to report in relation to the sustainable development goals,” says Thomas Fladby. Among other things, we utilize the Nasdaq data for the Danske Invest green bond fund which was launched recently – Danske Invest SICAV European Corporate Green Bond. WE ARE PLEASED TO SHARE that we have launched a green bond fund — Danske Invest SICAV European Corporate Green Bond. “The market for green bonds has grown significantly in recent years - especially in Europe. It has evolved from being a niche market to a mature market with a large and varied offering of bonds" says portfolio manager Kristian Rumph Frederiksen from the Manager Selection Team at Danske Bank Asset Management. The day-to-day management of the fund’s portfolio is carried out by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, based on Danske Bank’s policy for responsible investments and our framework for green bonds. “The fund focuses 100% on European green corporate bonds that are issued to finance green projects. Today, it is possible to assemble a portfolio consisting entirely of green bonds, which have the same credit rating and offer the same effective yield as a comparable portfolio of traditional corporate bonds,” says Kristian Rumph Frederiksen. WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE that we have been selected to manage the Dansk Vækstkapital funds. These funds will further strengthen our extensive platform within alternative investments at Danske Bank Asset Management. The first Dansk Vækstkapital fund was established in 2011 to invest in startups and growth companies through venture and buyout funds. Since then, a broad circle of investors has collectively committed approximately DKK 9.4 billion to the Dansk Vækstkapital funds, with the Danish state (EIFO) being the biggest investor. “In recent years, we have profoundly expanded our competencies within alternatives. Dansk Vækstkapital is a perfect match both in terms of our current competencies and our future ambitions within illiquid alternatives," says Danske Bank Asset Management CIO Thomas Otbo. Taking over the management of the Dansk Vækstkapital funds represents a significant development in the recent expansion of our illiquid alternatives platform. "We now offer a full-service platform that includes a wide range of solutions, from tailor-made institutional partnerships to semi-liquid funds for private investors," says Casper Bruyant Bonde, Head of Illiquid Alternatives at Danske Bank Asset Management.
