It's now 18 years since Mikkeller was founded in Mikkel's tiny kitchen in Copenhagen. Grown and matured over the years, we remain playful, young at heart, and weird as ever. For the company, 2024 was marked by a series of new venues: Our first bar in Zürich, a new location in Kyoto, a ramen joint in Hellerup, a Warpigs stand at the national football stadium in Copenhagen and of course Færgekroen – our new restaurant with local brewery located in Tivoli, the world’s oldest amusement park. It was marked by Mikkeller Running Club’s 10 years anniversary, by a new agreement with Carlsberg that allows us to reach many more beer lovers, by the fact that Mikkeller Beer Celebration took place in Copenhagen and for the first time in Tórshavn – and by exciting new collabs with Visit Denmark at the Summer Olympics in Paris, with Holmegaard, Edwin Europe, byNWR, Vibskov, Uniqlo, 7eleven and many more. And then there was all the excellent beer, including 36 inventions by our beer lab, a new Limbo Dragonfruit non. alc. or the new Energibajer Lemon. See you in 2025, for yet another exciting season!
Om os
Mikkeller is a gypsy brewery started by Mikkel Borg Bjergsø in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 2006 he was a math and physics teacher that started experimenting with hops, malt and yeast back home in his kitchen. Today Mikkel Borg Bjergsø exports his micro brewed beer to 50 different countries and is internationally acclaimed as one of the most innovative and cutting edge brewers in the world. Mikkel has made collaboration beers with some of the world’s most acknowledged and innovative microbreweries including Three Floyds, Stone and Alesmith. He also makes house beer for some of the best and most prominent restaurants in Denmark, such as Noma, Mielcke & Hurtigkarl and Kiin Kiin. In 2010 Mikkel opened Mikkeller Bar in the centre of Copenhagen with the ambition of creating a small, cool and elegant place for both beer lovers and novices. Mikkeller has since grown to a global business with bars, breweries and restaurants in Copenhagen, Aarhus, San Diego, Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Taipei, Barcelona, Madrid, Stockholm, Berlin, London, Shanghai and Helsinki. Mikkeller also runs the Mikkeller Beer Celebration in Copenhagen and Tokyo, where we present some of the world’s best breweries pouring their rarest and craziest beers, and the Mikkeller Running Club, which has over 12,000 members in 180 chapters around the world. http://mikkeller.com/ https://mikkeller.com/msc https://www.facebook.com/mbccopenhagen2022

Mikkeller is expanding globally again! 🇨🇭🇯🇵 In November, we’re opening two new bars. One in Zürich, Switzerland - a country with proud craft beer traditions and an adorable city in need of a good beer bar. Mikkeller Beer Celebration Faroe Islands (MBCFI) - It’s a Wrap! 🇫🇴 This weekend, we hosted our very first beer festival in the heart of Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. We brought the whole team along and had the chance to experience the stunning nature, unpredictable weather, warm hospitality of the locals, the national football team, and, of course, incredible beer from 25 international breweries spanning Europe, the USA, and the Faroe Islands. Our goal has always been to create the most fun, inspiring, and adventurous beer experiences in the world - and this one definitely delivered. A huge thank you to everyone at Mikkeller, our sponsors, brewers, and guests for making MBCFI’s debut one for the books. Oh, and we even made the local news on national television! Catch the clip here: https://lnkd.in/dHZqJcRU Until next time, Faroe Islands! 🌊🍻

At Mikkeller, we believe that the ability to navigate difficult conversations is a critical skill for every leader. Communication, when done thoughtfully and effectively, can turn challenges into opportunities for growth, understanding, and connection. That’s why one of our Mikkeller Leadership Program workshops are focused on honing this vital skill. In this session, our managers explored the power of asking the right questions, active listening, and approaching challenging conversations with empathy and clarity. Through live scenarios, they experienced firsthand what it feels like to engage in tough dialogues, practicing in real-time the conversations that could shape the culture and success of our retail locations. To make the experience even more impactful, we pushed boundaries. The managers were recorded as they handled these scenarios "cold turkey"—without preparation—creating an environment where instinct and real-time reactions took center stage. Afterward, they took time to reflect, process feedback from P&C and their peers, and tried again, this time with greater awareness and intention. This kind of iterative learning fosters a deeper understanding of how we communicate and connect. It empowers our leaders not only to face difficult moments but to transform them into meaningful interactions that can lead to better outcomes for their teams, their customers, and ultimately, the Mikkeller brand. With each session, our Leadership Program is building stronger, more resilient leaders who are prepared to lead with integrity, transparency, and compassion. We're excited to see how these tools will help elevate our teams and shape the future of Mikkeller.

Raspberry Rush just won the Drinks category at Coop i Danmark's annual award show Sol over Gudhjem 🥇 Since 2014 Coop i Danmark has celebrated the best and most innovative Danish products within food and beverage. It all culminates in an annual awards ceremony where a panel of five judges selects their top picks. In the words of Mikkel Bjergsøe: "I am incredibly proud that we in Mikkeller have been frontrunners in the development of alcohol-free beers for many years. One of the next exciting chapters in the beer revolution is functional beers, and with Raspberry Rush we have launched our first alcohol-free and functional beer. It contains caffeine equivalent to a cup of coffee and is created through natural fermentation without additives. It is a significantly better alternative to many energy and soft drinks. That's why it was extra cool when we heard that Raspberry Rush won the Product Award." Thank you to the judges for the award 🙌

Each quarter, we accept nominations from our location managers for employees who have exhibited outstanding performance, engagement, and presence while at work. We know that at the core of our DNA, the Mikkeller story flourishes in the conversations and good stories that are shared over a pint of beer and good food. Our retail teams are an integral part of this Mikkeller story, and this quarter our locations managers have nominated Sebastian Macats from Mikkeller Baghaven to receive the Q2 Outstanding Employee Award. He is an active part of what makes Mikkeller Baghaven a great place to work through his leadership, being 100% mentally engaged at work, and goes out of his way to be a team player. He provides every guest an amazing experience, both in the day-to-day, but also in our closed events. We appreciate all that he does, and are so happy to have him on our team! If you are out at Mikkeller Baghaven and see Sebastian, please don't hesitate to say hi!
