Wood pellets as renewable energy source: CMB supply chain Although wood biomass often gets overlooked, it has several valuable benefits that should be part of the discussion around renewable energy. Here’s how the supply chain works: When trees are harvested: The high-quality logs are sold to sawmills to make construction lumber and other wood products. Medium-quality logs are used for production of pulp for the paper industry. The lowest-quality trees and wood industry residues, like sawdust, are used to make biomass products, including wood pellets.   Trees store carbon while they grow, and when they are harvested, leftover residue can be used for bioenergy, such as our wood pellets. New trees are planted to keep the cycle going. As they grow, they absorb more carbon from the atmosphere. This makes wood pellets a more environmentally responsible energy source compared to fossil fuel energy sources such as natural gas or coal. #woodpellets #renewableenergysource #CMBiomass #biomass

Did you know that our wood pellets are made from wood industry and forestry residues? At CM Biomass, we produce wood pellets using residues from the wood industry, like sawdust and shavings, along with the lowest quality wood from forests—materials that have no other stable market and would otherwise go to waste. In fact, over 95% of our feed-stock is sourced from these industry residues, with the remaining 5% coming from forestry residues, such as treetops left behind after timber harvesting and trees below the quality requirements for sawmills. Wood pellets made from these residues offer a renewable energy source that can replace coal and gas in heating and power plants. By replacing coal with biomass, end-users often achieve a 90% reduction in CO₂ emissions, making it an important step toward reducing reliance on fossil fuels and supporting the transition to fuels with significantly lower carbon dioxide footprints. #woodpellets #biomass #CMBiomass #renewableenergysource

We would like to share an important update regarding CM Biomass’ leadership team. After careful consideration and by mutual agreement, Morten Buchgreitz has stepped down as CEO of CM Biomass. We want to extend a thank you to Morten for his efforts, his contribution, and his professionalism during his three years with CM Biomass. In the interim, our CFO, Ask Michael Munck, will take on the role of Acting CEO. Ask has been with us since 2022 and brings in-depth knowledge of CM Biomass, our operations, and our ambitions.
