Support for New Zealanders with incurable breast cancer

About us

Sweet Louise is a not for profit organisation in New Zealand that supports women and men who are living with incurable breast cancer. Inspired by the life of Louise Perkins, Sweet Louise is here to help those who have incurable breast cancer live as positively as they possible for as long as possible. Sweet Louise does this by offering financial, social and emotional support to members. Each member gets $500 worth of vouchers annually to use in conjunction with service providers to help ease financial burdens. Member meetings are offered to bring those with secondary breast cancer together to talk and connect. Sweet Louise support coordinators help members with any issues or concerns they have surrounding their diagnosis. Sweet Louise has 600 members across New Zealand. We are non-government funded and rely solely on donations. If you are interested in finding out more please visit our website: www.sweetlouise.co.nz

Such a good cause bringing the Fletcher Building team together to help raise funds for the Sweet Louise Breast Cancer organisation. Along with the other business units involved, we were super happy to be able to donate a bunch of quick buy goodie bags that flew off the table as well as some big ticket items for the auction, with all proceeds going towards the charity. Couldn’t be prouder of the volunteers from ours and the Mico Plumbing team that helped to organise and run the event. As of writing this post, the event has managed to raise $12,234! • We are very sad today to be saying goodbye to our amazing intern Helen. She travelled all the way from Hong Kong to complete a short internship with us. Sweet Louise members might have been lucky enough to chat with the lovely Helen over the past few weeks as she’s helped on the annual member feedback survey. Helen has been fabulous to have around the office and we will miss her! Good luck with your ongoing studies Helen – we’ve no doubt you have a very bright future ahead.

  • Yesterday we held our fourth Stand Strong 4 Sweet Louise Giving Dat! The final tally is now in and we are excited to share that we raised an incredible $200,000 in just 24 hours. 🥰🥳 We are so thrilled, and just in awe of our wonderful, kind community. We will start to put these funds to use right now, so we can give Kiwis facing incurable breast cancer the support they urgently need. Kiwis like Natalie, who shared, “I’m so grateful to have Sweet Louise – I know they‘ve got my back. To have them arrive at your home and listen, to ask how you are feeling, and how they can help – it is so valuable. And I am very thankful for the opportunities they have given me to spend special time with Zoe. Thank you for making all this possible.” Because of your kindness shown on our special Giving Day, we can make sure that women like Natalie don’t have to go through an incurable breast cancer diagnosis alone. We can also give more families like Natalie and Zoe the chance to do something special together and create wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. There is no more precious gift we can give.
