We enjoy hosting these events and staying connected as the year comes to a close. It is also a nice way to show our appreciation for all the work they do for our clients and for being great people to work with. • Working in today’s candidate-heavy market has meant we at Optic Digital have had the privilege of engaging with so many wonderful candidates and job seekers. We don’t take this for granted and understand the stress and pressure that so many have been under this year and have seen first hand the resilience job seekers have displayed. We have spoken to many candidates who have displayed great patience and understanding, as well as flexibility and adaptability throughout the challenges of this market’s hiring processes. Although we are not quite at the end of the year…we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the time you have taken to reach out, to apply for one of our jobs, and to say thank you for your positivity and perseverance. And also, for not hanging up on us for all those times we said, “hang in there!” 2025 better be better 👊 #jobseekers #ITrecruitment

  • Preparation is key! So, prepare yourself now for the market uptake. 🤞 They say first impressions count. With this in mind your CV is the first impression you give potential employers and recruiters, so it needs to be a good one! What makes a “good” CV you ask? Having reviewed thousands of CV’s over the years we asked our team for some key points to make sure your CV is in prime form and ready to roll out (to the appropriate job opportunities relevant to your skillset and experience of course…). Structure. We see more and more CV’s that have poor structure or are what we would call ‘back to front’. A solid CV structure should look like the following: ◼ First up – relevant personal info, name, phone number, email address, LI profile (if have one). ◼ Second – key skills and strengths listed. ◼ Third – work experience, with most recent work experience listed first which is the most relevant (not the other way round, that’s the back to front bit).  List about 10 to 15 years max of work experience. Worked more than that? List that info concisely, just company/title/duration is needed. ◼ Fourth – concise list of qualifications and certifications. ◼ Fifth – keep it under 3 pages ideally. Now to some extra details around that structure, keep reading…! Bullet points. ◾Bullet points are your best friend when it comes to outlining the duties of a role. ◾ And they look good. Clarity. 👓 Keep information clear and concise. When we are looking at a CV, we need to be able to see (often quickly) what we are looking for in relation to a skills and experience match. Format. 📝 Arrange things in a simple and easy to navigate way. No one wants to be jumping all over the page or visually distracted by so much on there. Controversial: Profile pic, or no? 😉 Hopefully these tips will help you prepare your CV for its moment in the spotlight. #ITrecruitment #jobmarket #resume #newopportunities
