We’re excited to pass the keys to our newest AA Driving School Driving Instructor, Meng Fon - former Mayor of Gisborne, and now the first AA instructor to hit the road in the region. Meng is fluent in English, te Reo Māori, Cantonese and Mandarin, and is confident to instruct in whichever language his students prefer. He is providing driving lessons in Gisborne and neighbouring towns for learner drivers or anyone who wants to brush up on their road skills. 🚗 AA Driving School currently has more than 90 Driving Instructors throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, delivering over 100,000 lessons per year. We’re really stoked that for the ninth year running, AA Roadservice has won the Gold Award in the Roadside Assistance category of the prestigious Reader’s Digest Quality Service Awards, as voted by New Zealanders. AA Life Insurance and AA Pet Insurance also took out the Silver Awards in their respective categories. These awards reflect our commitment on the roadside and in collaboration with our insurance partners, to consistently deliver the best customer service we can 💛

Here at the AA, we came together to celebrate Diwali, lighting up our offices and Centres across the country and filling every corner with warmth, colour, and joy. From delicious food to bright traditional attire and a spirit of festivity, our teams embraced hope, prosperity, and new beginnings—the essence of the Festival of Lights.   Moments like these remind us of the magic that happens when we come together, share, and honour each other's traditions, and spreading love, hope, and kindness wherever we go 🪔 A huge thank you to everyone who joined in and made this Diwali one to remember.   We hope your Diwali was prosperous and bright. May it's light continue to illuminate your path and fill your life with happiness✨ 

We are thrilled to be recognised as a finalist in the 2024 iSANZ Awards celebrating excellence in cybersecurity and information security across New Zealand. Our Security Uplift Project is a finalist in the Security Project or Security Awareness Initiative of the Year category. In a collaborative effort, the AA’s Security team prioritised engagement with our people across Aotearoa to better implement robust security protocols and uplift our security posture, plus gained valuable insights along the way. Everyone has a role to play in cybersecurity and we are very proud to be recognised for our contribution!

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week here in Aotearoa New Zealand, and this year’s theme celebrates community and what we can create together. Community looks different for everyone - our teams from across the AA came together to have conversations about mental health. At He Ngākau, our office in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), our people marked the week by gathering together for some shared kai and a kōrero (conversation) on mental health from our Chief People Officer Vicki Caisley We were also incredibly grateful to have Dr Angela Lim from Clearhead and accredited mindfulness educator Kristy von Minden join us earlier in the week for an online discussion about forming healthy habits to improve mental health and wellbeing. Though the week is coming to an end, let’s continue the kōrero on mental health and wellbeing all year long.

Te Wiki o te Reo Māori is a great opportunity to learn some new kupu and all week we’ve been encouraging our people to try new phrases, share their pepeha and honour the beautiful language. Our He Ngākau office waiata group based in Tāmaki Makaurau also performed a moving waiata for our people that spoke of how special and sacred te reo Māori is. The theme for Te Wiki 2024 is ‘Ake ake ake – A Forever Language’. It represents the resilience, adaptability and endurance of our language. It also reflects the commitment New Zealanders have to embracing and learning te reo Māori long into the future. We are proud to be with Aotearoa on this journey. Kia kaha te reo Māori!

A massive congratulations to our AA Pet Insurance team for taking out the award for Excellence in Financial & Banking Marketing Strategy at this year's YouTube NZ Marketing Awards✨   Our 'You Never Know What They're Up To' campaign was all about the mischievous things our pets do when no one's looking, and how having pet insurance can help put your mind at ease if something goes awry! 🐶 Shout out to our Marketing partners, Quantum Jump Ltd and Rocket Media for helping bring this campaign to life.   We’re also incredibly proud of our Marketing Specialist Ceejay Rodrigues, who was a finalist for the Marketer of the Future award – ka pai tō mahi Ceejay! We're thrilled to be named a finalist for the 2024 Financial Services Council New Zealand Awards in the following categories:   ✔ Contribution to Community for our support for vulnerable customers. ✔ Excellence in Governance category for our overall efforts in supporting effective risk governance across the AA.   We're also incredibly proud of Kavita Chetty, our AA Senior Risk Manager, who is a finalist under the Emerging Trailblazer category.   Thank you to the FSC for providing a platform that celebrates and encourages those working in roles impacting the financial wellbeing of communities across Aotearoa New Zealand.
