Te Tāhū Hauora Health Quality & Safety Commission New Zealand's recent report highlights the burden of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in our public hospitals. At Inhibit Coatings, we want to do our part to help reduce this burden. This is why one of our key focus points is antimicrobial medical polymer designed to provide advanced protection against harmful bacteria in medical devices such as catheters. If you want more information on our antimicrobial technology, please get in touch or visit our website. #InhibitCoatings #HealthcareSafety #AntimicrobialSolutions #PatientCare #InfectionControl
Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in New Zealand’s public hospitals are estimated to have cost the health care system $955 million in 2021 and to have caused more disability than many other causes of injury in the country, including road traffic crashes. A paper produced by Te Tāhū Hauora Health Quality & Safety Commission on the annual economic burden of HAIs in terms of cost, deaths and disablity has been published in the Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology journal. It highlights this national burden and will inform a strategy to reduce HAIs across Aotearoa New Zealand. District hospitals and other key partners have been actively collaborating with Te Tāhū Hauora on quality improvement activities to reduce the incidence of healthcare-associated infections. The goal now is to identify which of those activities will have the biggest impact and then roll them out on a national level. Read more on our website: https://bit.ly/4dNQ1qt
