The ability to remain calm, make fast decisions and follow process under pressure is a critical skill for air traffic controllers. Check out this happy cohort of ab initio air traffic services students! These 12 students have been with Airways Training in our Christchurch campus since April – they’re now in the last few weeks of academy training, and will soon complete 054 Surveillance Control in our radar simulators. Once they’ve graduated in a couple of weeks, they’ll have a well deserved break before joining Airways New Zealand for on-job training in various control towers and centres across New Zealand. To the students, all the very best for your last couple of weeks in the academy with us!
