🌟 22 Degrees St Paul's College Engineering Scholarship 🌟 We are thrilled to announce the St Paul's College Engineering Scholarship, driven by our directors Robert Mannes and Jennifer Austin Mannes continued desire to inspire future engineers. Looking to give back in a purposeful way has led to the creation of this scholarship, aimed at motivating and guiding St Paul's students pursuing an engineering pathway. This year's recipient, chosen from a group of St Paul's College students who have demonstrated academic excellence and an interest in STEM subjects, is Year 12 pupil, Mateo. The scholarship will contribute to Mateo's study costs over three years including his Year 13 schooling and first years at University, undertaking engineering. Robert and Jennifer recently met with Mateo, his mother Theresa, Deputy Headmaster Craig Borich, and Headmaster Keith Simento to congratulate him on his outstanding efforts. We look forward to following Mateo's journey and are excited to offer more scholarships to support the next generation of engineers!

On a mission to save water and power, St Cuthbert's College recently connected with our ESD Leader, John Gillespie to kick off a Water and Energy Audit for their Auckland campus. During initial discussions, John saw an opportunity to involve the school’s Sustainability Group in an applied project. He and colleague Sasha mentored students, showing them how to conduct and verify flow testing of water fixtures throughout the school - giving them hands-on experience and insight into water efficiency. The information students gather will assist our team in determining the efficiency of the existing fixtures against international WELS rating benchmarks. We can’t wait to see their findings and provide recommendations to support the school’s sustainability journey. A big thank you to Amber and Andrew for making this collaboration possible and inspiring future change-makers!

NABERSNZ - The results are in! Guided by our in-house NABERSNZ Accredited Assessors', 22 Degrees HQ has once again been awarded a 5.5 Star NABERSNZ rating. Throughout the past year, the team has stayed consciously mindful of our energy use and monitored it via loggers installed on our power feed, which looks for unexpected peaks and patterns that need addressing to prevent creeping energy use. What is NABERSNZ? NABERSNZ is a leading NZ rating system (0 - 6) that measures and evaluates the environmental performance of an office (once built and occupied) - the higher the rating, the lower the operating costs are for your building. Get Certified - 22 Degrees has recently expanded its NABERSNZ Accredited Assessor Team. Our team offer the full suite of NABERSNZ services, from initial survey and advice to reporting and certifying a building with New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC). We go beyond the basics of assessment and certification and provide a road-map of possible energy saving measures to enhance your rating further.

🌟A Room Full of Winners🏅 22 Degrees recently celebrated the hard work our team have contributed to their peers, clients and our company during the annual 22 Degrees Good Value Awards evening. Each year we reflect on those who have made a significant contribution via way of innovation, determination, leadership, execution and all-round outstanding service to the company. We congratulated Chirs D, Richard G, Thao, Dylan, Sasha and Jaime as our prestigious award winners. The People’s Choice awards followed, with live voting for ‘memorable’ office moments - Now here me out (‘Quote of the Year’, courtesy of Thao), Table Tennis is the hottest sport in the office and Jedd honed his skills to claim ‘Athlete of the Year’. Our ‘Best Dressed’ was a clear winner, with Vicki proving her title with one of her many exquisite dresses. Most deserving of her prized lemon for ‘Moment of the Year’, went to Sasha after she locked our Director Rob out of his office. The evening was rounded off with a well-deserved, delicious meal at Mekong Baby.

Our team works with Kirstie to help us share (often) technical information so people are captivated and don't nod off. She's brilliant.
While some of my clients are professional speakers, most of them are professionals who speak. And often, they’re seeking something a little different from the more traditional presentation skills training. They are looking to cultivate the presence of mind, body, spirit and voice that will help them speak with confidence, clarity and conviction under pressure. And most importantly, they want to sound like themselves while they’re doing it. ⚡ On podcasts ⚡ In Court ⚡ Pitching ⚡ During Q & A ⚡ Navigating difficult conversations If they’re up for it, I’ll often recommend taking an improvisation class or two. It’s a great way to learn how to be alive to the situation unfolding in front of you and spontaneously meet it with presence, power and purpose. So I’m stoked to be working with the improvisers from the Covert Theatre on Voice in Action again this weekend. Because you know, strange things can happen to our voice in high stakes situations right?! Our voice is the ‘great revealer’ and if we’re feeling tense, nervous, under pressure or uncertain of where things are going there’s a good chance these qualities will show up in our voice if we don’t learn how to manage ourselves. Wade Jackson and his team invest in ongoing training to make sure they meet the moment every time. Which is why they are the best in the business (they’ll also guarantee you a jolly good laugh). So if you’re in Tāmaki Makaurau this weekend and you’ve already completed Improv 101 at the Covert, why don’t you come and play with us!? Link in the comments below 👇 #Confidence #SpeakerCoach #VoiceInAction _____________ Kia ora, I’m Kirstie 👋🏻 I help emerging leaders and changemakers speak with confidence, clarity and courage. Authentically increase your vocal power and presence in moments that matter so you don’t have to ‘fake it till you make it’. DM to have a chat about this could work for you.

And just like that, our 'Winterns' have come to the end of their internship. Three weeks of mentoring, personalised projects, site visits (and table tennis!) has flown by. We're really impressed with how well they fit into the team and their willingness to give everything a go. We wish them all the best for their future studies and hope to see them back soon.

Awesome to work with Ashton Mitchell ltd on this fantastic project - congratulations on the well deserved Property Council New Zealand award!
Ashton Mitchell is delighted to share that the Onehunga Mall Club (OMC) Apartments has been honoured with a 2024 Property Council New Zealand Excellence Award in the Multi-unit Residential category. This award celebrates the outstanding design and innovation that has gone into this project. Located on the historic site of the former Onehunga Workingmen’s Club, the OMC Apartments pay tribute to the area’s heritage while setting a new standard for future developments. The eight-story building comprises 102 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing urban fabric of Onehunga. Partnering with Lamont&Co/Precinct Properties Residential Limited, Ashton Mitchell has ensured that the OMC Apartments are more than just a residential development. They are a thoughtfully designed addition to the neighbourhood, characterized by careful material selections and design elements that reflect the local context. The two-storey brick façade at street level mirrors the traditional shop frontages, maintaining the area’s historical charm. The design strategically sets the residential tower back from the street, providing visual separation and creating spacious outdoor terraces for the second-floor apartments. This setback not only enhances the building’s aesthetic appeal but also ensures a pleasant living environment with ample sunlight and outlook. The tower’s visual bulk is further mitigated through articulation, which breaks down its mass and complements the surrounding architecture. The OMC Apartments exemplify the principles of the Auckland Unitary Plan, demonstrating how contemporary design can respect and enhance historical settings. This award is a testament to the collaborative effort and vision of Lamont & Co/Precinct Properties Residential Limited, and the wider consultant team, highlighting our shared commitment to creating high-quality, contextually sensitive developments. https://lnkd.in/dz3e4_Pz #ashtonmitchell #apartments #multiresidential #auckland #nzarchitecture
