🎉 Tomáš Báča from MRS Group at FEE-CTU Prague has been awarded a prestigious JUNIOR STAR grant from the Grantová agentura České republiky. Here's a quick recap of our 2024 highlights: 🤯 Days of AI 2024: Record-breaking attendance with 10,000+ visitors and nearly 1,000 speakers across 200+ events! 🏆 AI Awards: Introduced the Long-term Contribution Award and celebrated incredible talent across five categories. 🤝 Community Growth: Doubled our community with new members and partners from leading Czech and international organizations. 🇨🇿 Czech National AI Platform: Launched CNAIP to unite stakeholders and drive AI development in Czechia. 📢 Advocacy & Awareness: Played a key role in updating the National AI Strategy and participated in 100+ events. 👩🏫 Public Sector Training: Provided AI training to nearly 1,000 public sector employees. 🎓 prg.minor: Expanded our AI Minor program with the current total of 139 students enrolled, fostering the next generation of AI innovators. 🙌 Education for All: Elements of AI reached 8,963 new participants, and we supported AI microcredentials and a new master's program, prg.master, to develop an AI-ready workforce. 🤩 Community Engagement: Hosted meetups with AI pioneers like Murray Campbell and Rich Sutton. 📰 Media Visibility: Featured in major outlets like Czech Television, Seznam Zprávy, and Hospodářské noviny. 👨🎓 How are Czech students using AI? 🤖 A new study by E-Bezpeci Palacký University Olomouc reveals how Czech students use generative AI—and where schools are lagging behind 📊 Key Takeaways: ✅ 54% of students are turning to ChatGPT. ✅ Other popular tools include Photomath, Gemini and Copilot. ✅ Students are using AI for homework (32.8%), writing reports, understanding complex topics, and even for creative projects. However, challenges exist: ⚠️ 28% of students admit to copying homework directly from AI. ⚠️ 14.5% confess to using AI to cheat on tests.
