🎉 Summary of the successful SANAE BEER.KE 2024 Meetup in December 🍺 The third QA meetup of this autumn in Košice is now behind us, and the atmosphere was simply amazing! This evening brought not only inspiring presentations but also opportunities for networking, sharing experiences, and building relationships within the community. 🙌 Of course, the Košice QA Community was part of it. Also Štefan did not miss that. 😀 💡 Key topics of the evening: ➡️ Daniel Polan motivated us with his presentation to maintain our relevance as testers in today’s IT world. He emphasized that: • The job market is demanding testers to diversify their skills. • Today’s testers should have a solid understanding of programming, management, architecture, UX, and other key areas of software development. • Neglecting skill improvement could lead to challenges in finding a job. Daniel also shared fresh updates from the world of CASQB and ISTQB® - International Software Testing Qualifications Board, including the introduction of the Test Automation Engineering 2.0 syllabus, which places a stronger focus on the daily work of an automation engineer. ➡️ Presentation by my colleagues from Fpt Slovakia s.r.o. A big thank you goes to Anna, Marcel, and Lukáš, who stepped out of their comfort zones to share their experiences directly from their projects: • Anna Vojtková introduced ServiceNow and its capabilities in test management. She demonstrated how this part of the tool is effectively used in their projects for their customer. • Marcel Petrus and Lukáš Sokol focused on the Automated Testing Framework within the ServiceNow platform. They showcased a live example of how quickly and easily tests can be created using this framework. 💡 A “interesting fact” was that this framework includes an automatic clean-up and rollback feature, which significantly streamlines the testing process. 💬 Discussion and networking: After the presentations, an engaging Q&A session followed, sparking lively discussion full of insightful questions and answers. The ISTQB Glossary is one of the most comprehensive lists of terms and definitions related to software testing, maintained by the ISTQB® - International Software Testing Qualifications Board under the leadership of Matthias Hamburg. I am pleased to announce that, alongside only seven other languages, the glossary has now been fully localized into Czech. This achievement is especially significant given the fact that the Czech version of the international standard ISO 29119 (Software Testing) was recently withdrawn by local authorities. Special thanks go to the translation team from Czech and Slovak Quality Board which I have been leading for long 14 years - Petr Neugebauer, Lukáš Piška, Miroslav Renda and Petr Žáček.
