2 weeks ago, Salla, co-founder of Orijin, joined our partners & clients in Uganda. During her visit, she explored carefully each element of the supply chain of her clients, visited the farms, and the cocoa & coffee processing facilities. Together with our partners, they worked closely with our product to ensure they aligned with the realities on the ground. The goal is to deliver real benefits tailored to our customers' specific pain points, processes, and business needs, empowering them to enhance their operations effectively! 🤝 ➡️ Highlights from Salla's journeys across Uganda: 💰 Seeing... how mobile money is changing cocoa purchasing, no more cash in the field, no more long bank trips. This is safer and more efficient for all! ☕️ Seeing... how creating quality coffee requires so many systems, processes, learnings, data, details, etc. The challenge? How do we help more companies and farmer organizations access these benefits and improve coffee quality outcomes? 🛠️ Seeing... how coffee farmers benefit from the various services that they receive, trainings, demonstrations, income diversification programs, microfinance support, etc. The big question: How can we efficiently link farmer impact data with purchase and production records to reveal real, measurable impact? 🚺 Seeing... the role of women: In Uganda, women play a critical yet often hidden role in coffee production. From farm work and picking to sorting and processing, it was clear that much of the labor was carried out by women, though their contributions often go unrecognized from the outside. This trip provided countless valuable insights and strengthened our collaboration with on-ground teams and partners. 🌱✨Thanks to everyone involved!
