Last week we were at MEDICA - Leading International Trade Fair in Düsseldorf with CTN.FI. It was an incredible experience to present CTN's innovative cryotherapy and recovery technology. At MMehr Oy, we help our customers take their first steps into the German market, and attending a trade fair like MEDICA is one of the best starting points. Why? 🤝 Face-to-face contacts: Exhibitions offer the opportunity to meet potential customers, partners and distributors in person. These personal interactions help to build trust and establish strong business relationships from the outset. 🚦 Product demonstrations: Seeing a product in action is far more persuasive than reading about it. Live demos allow prospects to experience the effectiveness and quality of the technology first-hand, making it easier to communicate value. 🇩🇪 Market insights: Attending a major industry event such as MEDICA provides valuable insight into the latest trends, competitor products and customer needs. This knowledge is essential to effectively tailor the go-to-market strategy. 👀 Brand visibility: Participating in such a prestigious event significantly increases brand visibility. It helps our clients get noticed and remembered in a competitive landscape, which is especially important when entering a new market. CTN's cutting-edge devices received a lot of attention and we're proud to have supported their go-to-market efforts. We're looking forward to what's to come!

Opportunities and Challenges in the German Market Last week, we were lucky enough to welcome Ansgar Frankenberg, CEO and Founder of MMehr as a speaker to our LEAP FORWARD program. Ansgar discussed the key opportunities and challenges of entering the German market. He noted that achieving initial sales may take 3 to 6 months due to the need to build trust with local customers. Additionally, entering this market requires significant financial resources and cannot be done on a tight budget. He highlighted three key aspects of entering the German market: 1️⃣ One-Size-Does-Not-Fit-All: Ansgar cautioned against using a "one-size-fits-all" sales and marketing strategy. What may be a "nice-to-have" in a startup’s home market could be a crucial differentiator in the German market. Adapting strategies to local preferences is essential for success. 2️⃣ Personal Connection is Key: Customer acquisition in Germany relies heavily on personal interaction. Trust-building is a slow but essential process, and language proficiency plays a significant role. However, it’s not just about language skills but about creating a genuine connection with customers. Automated customer acquisition models are less effective in this market. 3️⃣ Local Representation is Needed: Ansgar emphasized the importance of having a dedicated local representative or team for effective market entry. While some markets may embrace digital interactions, Germany’s slower digitization means that face-to-face meetings remain the preferred method of communication. #leapforward #intentional #dkstartups #enteringthegermanmarket Industriens Fond

Expanding into international markets is exciting. However, businesses looking to enter the German market need to approach it with patience and a long-term perspective. Quick wins are rare, and building a reputation in a completely new market takes time. But the good news is that German customers are known for their reliability, loyalty, and long-term business relationships, making the German market well worth the effort.

Germany's economic powerhouse: A comparative overview 🌍📊 In 2024, Germany's economic stature remains a beacon of strength and resilience, with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of €4.6 trillion. This figure is not just a number; it represents a combined economic power equal to the total GDP of several other European nations combined - including powerhouses such as Norway, Sweden and Finland, as well as Eastern European nations such as Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭? Germany's economic influence extends far beyond its borders, shaping trade policies, investment flows and economic strategies across the continent. As Europe faces various economic challenges and opportunities, Germany's role as a central economic player is more important than ever. This dominance also presents a unique landscape for businesses and investors. Understanding the depth and breadth of Germany's economic environment is key to navigating the European market effectively. As we look to future trends and developments, the interplay between Germany's economic decisions and their ripple effects across Europe will be crucial to monitor. For businesses, policymakers and observers alike, Germany's economic profile offers insights and opportunities that are paramount in a rapidly evolving global context. #marketentry #finnland #germany #futuroptions

Valuable insights from our COO Sabine on the cultural differences between Finnish and German business cultures. 🙌
In 2019, I embarked on an adventure, not just across borders, but into an entirely new cultural tapestry. Moving from Germany to Finland, I thought, "It's all Europe, how different can it really be?" But the reality was far more complex and nuanced than I had expected. One of the first cultural differences I encountered was the style of communication. Coming from Germany, known for its directness 🗣️, where people say what they mean and mean what they say without much sugar-coating, Finland presented a contrasting approach. Here, communication is often more subtle and indirect, especially in professional settings. This delicate balancing act of words was a refreshing but challenging adjustment. Then there's the approach to planning. In Germany, meticulous planning is almost a way of life; everything from simple meetings to weekend trips is planned well in advance with precision ⏱️. In Finland, while planning is valued, there's a noticeable emphasis on flexibility and spontaneity, which initially caught me off guard. Social interactions further highlighted the contrasts. German gatherings are often structured and formal, whereas Finnish social life is deeply intertwined with nature 🍃 and tends to be more relaxed and informal. This deep connection to the environment influences not only leisure activities, but also business meetings and events. These cultural nuances are not just minor observations; they are central to understanding how to conduct business effectively. For Finnish companies looking to enter the German market, recognising and adapting to these differences is crucial. As I've experienced first-hand, understanding these nuances is key - not only to personal adaptation, but also to professional success. At our company, we specialise in bridging these cultural gaps and helping Finnish companies successfully establish themselves in Germany 🇩🇪🇫🇮. Understanding the market goes beyond economics and language - it is about making meaningful connections that respect and appreciate these cultural differences. If your Finnish company is considering expanding into the German market, remember that it's not just about selling a product or service; it's about communicating and connecting in a way that resonates. #culturaldifference #germany #finland #market
