Welcome aboard the last #lifeatfinnair of the year! This time, we'll introduce Tommi from Finnair Cargo through two pictures and six questions. ✈️: Who are you and what do you do at Finnair? "I’m Tommi Voss, and I serve as the Head of Operations for Finnair Cargo. My role focuses on ensuring that our global cargo operations run seamlessly—from the moment a shipment is booked with us to when it reaches our customers at its destination." ✈️: How long have you worked here and what made you apply? "I joined Finnair in March 2020, just before the COVID-19 crisis began affecting the aviation industry. As someone who holds a pilot's license from the Suomen Ilmailuopisto (SIO), having a profession at Finnair was always a dream of mine. When the opportunity arose to join, I didn’t hesitate for a second." ✈️: What do you like the most about working at Finnair? "The sense of belonging is what I value the most. I truly feel like we are a team with a shared purpose, and everyone is doing their best to achieve it. This was especially evident during the crisis when we transformed from a passenger-focused airline into a cargo carrier and back again, all while achieving remarkable results. Our resilience over the past few years has been nothing short of inspiring." ✈️: What’s your favourite Finnair destination? "I’d have to say either Hong Kong or Tokyo. I love the vibrant atmosphere and the warmth of the people in these destinations—they always make the trips memorable." ✈️: Can you tell us something most people don’t know about you? "I’m a big fan of heavy board games! There’s an entire world of intricate and strategy-driven board games that I love exploring with friends and family. My current favourite is a game called Twilight Struggle." ✈️: What tip would you give to someone considering a career in aviation? "Aviation is such a diverse and dynamic industry—no two days are ever the same. This constant variety keeps the work exciting and rewarding. My advice? Be curious, stay adaptable, and embrace the unique challenges this field offers!" Thank you, Tommi and everyone else, who participated in the #lifeatfinnair series this year. We'll continue introducing Finnair team members in 2025. 💙
