  • What a way to close our 50th year! Judged on criteria ranging from performance and strategic initiatives to technology and sustainability, Cayman National Bank was ranked first in the Cayman Islands for banking, winning the accolade for a record eighth time. “This award recognizes not only the achievements of the past year, but the culmination of Cayman National Bank’s efforts to be the bank of choice for the Cayman community over the last 50 years,” said Cayman National Corporation’s Chief Executive Officer Janet Hislop. “I am immensely proud of the team’s ongoing efforts to ensure we are ready to meet the needs of our customers in the 21st century and beyond, and we are grateful to The Banker magazine for this recognition.” Cayman National received the award for Bank of the Year 2024 at a gala held by The Banker magazine in London on 4 December, where long-serving staff member Avolyn Howell, Senior Vice President of Personal & Business Banking and Credit Risk Management, was on hand to collect the award. • As we get closer to saying goodbye to 2024 and soon welcome 2025, we extend our heartfelt wishes to our valued customers, partners and friends. Next year’s calendar holds special significance, featuring the remarkable work of local artists, including members of the Native Sons artist collective and other up-and-coming talents. These artists represent the rich creative spirit and cultural heritage of our community, and we are honoured to showcase their work. We are deeply grateful to each artist who generously lent us their time, welcomed us into their private spaces, and allowed us to capture them in intimate settings. This collaboration provided a unique opportunity to explore their artistic processes and personal journeys, bringing an authentic and personal touch to this project. Their contributions have transformed this calendar into more than just a collection of months—it’s a tribute to the evolving and dynamic artistic voices that make our community so vibrant. Thank you for your continued support, and a special thanks to the artists for making this collaboration possible. We look forward to sharing another year of growth and success with all of you. -Janet Hislop, CEO and President. . . . #CaymanNational #CNBCalendar2025

  • Cayman National is donating the fifty trees as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations this year to the National Trust for the Cayman Islands to restore dry forest habitat along Malportas Pond Bird Sanctuary in North Side. At an event held on Friday 1 November, Cayman National’s senior leadership team joined National Trust staff and representatives from the Ministry of Sustainability and Climate Resiliency to plant a selection of native trees which produce fruit and flowers that attract birds.   “Cayman National’s commitment to sustainability and ESG principles encompasses products and services, such as our GreenLiving programme, to the way we give back in the community,” said Janet Hislop. “The National Trust does invaluable work in conserving our natural environment and preserving our built heritage and we are proud to partner with them on this tree planting initiative.”   “The National Trust greatly appreciates the community spirit of Cayman National in support of our efforts to rehabilitate and preserve the coastal areas surrounding Malportas Pond,” said Frank Roulstone, Executive Director of the National Trust. “The dry woodland ecosystem around the pond supports a diverse range of native animals and plants, some of which are unique to these islands.”   Malportas Pond Bird Sanctuary is admission-free and is open to year-round to birdwatchers and visitors in North Side.   To read more visit https://lnkd.in/eNHybTjg . . . #CaymanNational #HalfACentury #TrustProsperityCommunity

  • Janet Hislop, CEO of Cayman National Corporation Ltd. and President of Cayman National Bank Ltd. delivered an empowering speech at the Rise and Thrive Brunch. This annual event brings together nearly 400 women for empowerment, networking, and support. In her address, Janet shared powerful experiences and advice. “The best revenge is massive success, not just success but massive success. For example, if you are asked to deliver 10% growth, deliver 20% growth, consistently.” Janet also urged attendees, “I never let the thought enter my head that, being a woman disadvantaged me in any way. I recommend that you employ the same approach—don’t let being a woman limit you in any way. You are truly capable of achieving anything to which you aspire; do not let society’s biases or the opinions of others lead you away from that undeniable truth.” Her inspiring words resonated with the audience, fostering a sense of community and motivation among fellow female leaders. Congratulations and thank you to Janet for her powerful contribution to this uplifting gathering. . . . #CaymanNational #PowerToMakeADifference #WomenEmpowerment
