Light and hope! As night continues to conquer, as we reach the apex of its power over light, we reach the time when its reign will wane and light will once more emerge victorious . We have celebrated this time of the year for millennia. Helios Megistos, Sol Invictus, Christmas; all celebrating the emerging victory of light over darkness, life over death. We look back to the year creeping to its end and hope for the future, look to emerge into the light and celebrate life ... invest in life, in love, in family and friends, in our work and our colleagues. I was today reminded of the decades long process that got me here, starting from my elementary school, the First Elementary, (A' Astiki) and what it meant to be innocent and believe that everything is possible. Not all children today have the luxury of hope, not all of them can look into the light and think everything is possible. We, adults, have robbed them of this right to believe and hope so it is up to us to make it right as much as we can. The A' Astiki children sang their Christmas Carols for us today in an effort to help their less fortunate classmates have clothing and food. A multicultural elementary school with lots of challenges for the future. We at Patrikios Legal have today pledged to be beside them on their journey, not only at Christmas but throughout the year. To make sure that they can hope and that they are neither hungry nor unclothed. Look out for a child this Christmas, at the year's end and give them hope! No, the 2nd Annual IBA Asset Recovery conference in Madrid was not quite a pursuit of the impossible dream, but it did highlight the difficulties and challenges involved in tracing assets and enforcing judgments. And through some interesting and mostly interactive presentations most of the speakers provided some contemporary insight with regard to several relevant issues. Glad to have attended it and in all likelihood I will be present at the next one…

On Sunday 1st December 2024 , the "Marathon of Love", organized by the Sotiri Koritsa Foundation in cooperation with the Periklis Dimitriou Society, took place with great success at the Molo in Limassol. The event was attended by prominent figures, such as the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Marillena Evangelou, the Mayor of Limassol @Giannis Armeutis and the President of the EOA Giannis Tsouloftas. Everyone supported the work of the Foundation and the importance of social solidarity. The purpose of the Foundation is to support vulnerable social groups, particularly the elderly, by strengthening social welfare and solidarity actions. During the event, Maria Koritsa, founder of the Foundation, emphasized the importance of collective effort and participation of everyone in empowering people in need. The event included touching messages and actions, with an opportunity to make donations and contributions towards the Foundation's work.
