The Ministry of Employment have successfully launched Coracle Inside laptops at HMP Windmill Hill. Coracle Inside is a UK-based company that provide secure educational and digital platforms to 90 prisons across England and Wales. They work with over 20 content partners to deliver a wide array of educational courses that are specifically tailored to meet the needs of the prison population. These laptops facilitate in-cell and classroom learning in areas such as English, Maths, Wood Working, Construction, CV Writing and Interview Skills. Coracle Inside's Contract and Business Development Manager, Kathy Beach, visited HMP Windmill Hill last week to setup the laptops and deliver training to the prison service staff members. We would like to extend our gratitude to Kathy, and the Coracle Inside team, for helping us turn this idea into a reality.

Earlier this month, we held the Professional Advancement through Holistic Skills (PATHS) certificate presentation for those users enrolled in the pilot scheme under the Supported Employment Programme. A total of 40 individuals have registered for PATHS since its inception, and a total of 17 individuals were presented with certificates on completion of courses. These courses centre around generic employability skills applicable to most job environments, and allow participants to build up their CV’s and enhance their professional pathways. Minister Santos, and the team at PATHS, would like to thank the collaborators from across Government Departments, the Digital Skills Academy, Edyoucation and Clubhouse, along with the Barzilai Foundation who have provided crucial sponsorship to the programme. A huge congratulations to all the successful candidates, and we look forward to continue providing a platform for learning and personal growth!

A massive well done to the GCS team for raising a total of £580 for GBC Open Day from the Santa’s Grotto event they hosted, which around 150 children attended. The event offered children and families the opportunity to meet Father Christmas, and explore the ‘Candy Cane Land’ themed John Mackintosh Hall. Thank you to all the hard-working staff at GCS for pulling off such a great event!
