On December 5, 2024 Dr. Malle Fofana, the Regional Director for Africa, and Dr. Omar Diouf, Togo Country Lead and Program Lead for Climate-Smart Agriculture & Rural Energy Nexus, participated in the 7th Seoul Dialogue on Africa (SDA) as a speaker and panelist. Hosted by the Korea - Africa Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea, the event centered on the theme "New Horizons for Korea-Africa Strategic Cooperation" and built upon the outcomes of the Korea-Africa Summit held earlier this year. It facilitated deep discussions on the challenges and opportunities for strategic collaboration between the two regions. Dr. Malle Fofana in his presentation“Africa’s Strategic Choices for Sustainable Development ,” highlighted key pathways to #greengrowth and resilience, including: ⚡ Renewable Energy Expansion: Investing in large-scale renewable energy projects, fostering public-private partnerships, and advancing energy-efficient infrastructure. 🪴 Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security: Promoting climate-smart agriculture and improving access to markets and technologies for smallholder farmers. 📱 Digital Innovation and Infrastructure: Enhancing digital connectivity, supporting tech innovation, and empowering youth through green entrepreneurship. 🌍 Climate Resilience and Natural Resource Management: Advocating for ecosystem restoration, sustainable resource use, and community-driven conservation initiatives.
