Discover the activities that have shaped the field of space at EPFL, in Switzerland and around the world, with this impressive retrospective of space-related projects and research, starting with Swisscube in 2004. In 20 years, EPFL has seen the birth of numerous spin-offs - many of which have joined our organization, supported laboratories - LASTRO, Reconfigurable Robotics Lab - and project centers such as IGLUNA, CHEOPS and the Cosmos Archeology exhibition, to name but a few. And let's not forget the student space teams who are doing a fantastic job. Looking forward to the next 20 years! ClearSpace 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 EPFL Satellites are open to attack. All communications systems are vulnerable to hackers by definition, and are protected accordingly, with hardware and software. However, because they reside outside the protection of the Earth’s atmosphere, satellites are perhaps exposed to the mightiest and most unpredictable hacker of all: the Sun. Congratulations to our member SWISSto12! Two weeks ago, the "Prix vaudois des entreprises internationales (PVEI)" awarded prizes to SWISSto12, Hublot and Swiss Medical Network. For its 11th edition, the Innovation Prize focused on satellite telecom- munications, the watchmaking world and private clinics by singling out three Vaud-based companies in these sectors. Renens-based start-up SWISSto12, a product of EPFL and a member of Space Innovation, has been manufacturing state-of-the-art 3D-printed satellites and radio-frequency components since 2011.
We are honored to have received "The Vaud Prize for International Companies" (PVEI). A big thank you to Innovaud & Chambre vaudoise du commerce et de l'industrie (CVCI). This award reflects the dedication and innovation of our global team. Read the full article by Alain Detraz in 24 heures : https://lnkd.in/eVA_YVgf
