It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our cherished colleague and friend, Barbora (Bara) Buhnova, Vice-Chair and Grant Awarding Coordinator of our COST Action EUGAIN. Informatics Europe had the honor of working with Bara on numerous occasions. She served not only as the Vice-Chair of our COST Action EUGAIN but also represented the Faculty of Informatics at Masaryk University as the IE Deputy Representative. Her passion for Informatics and her unwavering commitment to promoting gender diversity in the field are truly inspiring. Two years ago, Bara contributed to our Gender Equality webinar series as a speaker, leaving behind a remarkable example of her impactful work: https://lnkd.in/eDrSV5RA We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, colleagues and students during this challenging time. To honor Bara’s inspiring life and her unwavering passion for Informatics research and education, we warmly invite everyone to join an online memorial in her memory on 19 December 2024, from 14:00 to 15:00 CET via Teams meeting.
