🇦🇹 GF has completed its 100% acquisition of the Austrian plant in Traisen, cementing decades of collaboration in pipe fittings production. ➕ The Traisen site has been central to GF’s identity for over a century, since the acquisition by Georg Fischer I in 1833. Initially focused on steel products, the site gradually expanded into pipe fittings, growing from 90 pieces produced in 1864 to over 8'600 by 1925. The site still manufactures one of GF’s oldest and most iconic products: malleable iron fittings. 💧 This year, our Walk for Water events across the world raises USD 555’000 for safe water access. 🇺🇸 🇨🇭 🇫🇮 🇨🇳 🇦🇺 🇮🇳 At 18 GF sites from Finland and Switzerland to the US, China, Australia and India, around 2’500 employees and 140 company partners walked approximately 2 kilometers with a bucket of #water to symbolize the struggles millions face every day in water-scarce communities. The raised funds will support humanitarian aid and sustainable safe water initiatives in community development programs across Mexico, Peru, Honduras, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, and Indonesia. The funds will also assist refugee settlements in East Africa and provide emergency relief during global disasters. 🌍 GF Walk for Water 2024: A Global Initiative for Universal Access to Safe Water 🌊 🚶 Imagine walking miles each day just to fetch water—this is the reality for many people, especially women and children, around the world. An estimated two billion people lack access to this vital resource. In support of universal access to safe water, GF Piping Systems India भारत will hold its annual Walk for Water 2024, uniting employees and partners in this important cause. 💧 Together, we will walk two kilometres carrying a bucket of water, symbolizing the daily struggle faced by millions.
