Increasing Women’s Participation in Freeride Freeride skiing and snowboarding, once heavily male-dominated, are seeing progress toward greater gender balance. However, challenges such as training disparities, limited visibility, and societal norms persist. Key Challenges: - Underrepresentation: Women make up only 26% of FWT Juniors, dropping to 24% in FWT Qualifiers. - Training Gaps: Cultural norms have limited women’s opportunities. As Chloe Hehir notes: “We had to prove girls can hit cliffs too.” - Media & Sponsorship: Limited visibility restricts women’s ability to train, compete, and secure funding. Initiatives Driving Change: - Freerid’Her Event: A women-focused competition in Verbier, January 4–5, led by freeride icon Elisabeth Gerritzen and Peak Performance - Women’s Camps: Supporting projects like Sister’s Camp from Noemie Equy, Level Up by Marion Haerty, and Find Your Line by Tiphanie Perrotin. Freeride Women Days: Partnering with Peak Performance to empower women in freeride. - Judging Workshop: Increasing female judges from 42% to 82% through women only trainings. - FWT Equaline Hotline: Reporting system for gender-related discrimination at events. - Gender Equality Task Force: Annual reviews to tackle gender-related issues in sport and governance. - Staff Growth: Women now represent 42% of the FWT team, up from 32% last year. Women’s participation in FWT divisions has doubled since 2022, highlighting the success of targeted efforts. These initiatives are paving the way for a freeride future where gender parity is no longer an aspiration but a reality.

Celebrating the small victories! 🎉 Sometimes, it’s the seemingly small steps that make a big impact. Today, we’re excited to share a special moment — our boss, Nicolas Hale-Woods, made his first LinkedIn post! ⚡ Why is this significant? - It demonstrates our commitment to evolving our branding strategy. - It reinforces our belief that every team member, including leadership, plays a crucial role as a brand ambassador across our channels. - It bridges the gap between Nicolas’ industry expertise and our digital presence. This moment highlights the importance of adaptability and continuous growth in leadership. It’s refreshing to work in an environment where open communication allows us to suggest new initiatives, even to our CEO. And you, when was the last time you could ask your boss to do something new? 😎
3 months since I was fortunate to witness Paris 2024 - Comité d'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024, and I am still blown away by the power of the world's biggest sport event. Can't wait to see Freeride Skiing & Snowboarding on the Olympic program FIS Freeride World Tour.
